8 Tips to lead Titan HM PUGs for your first relic in /shout.

-Don't random DF anyone. It is unlikely to win.

-In your shout, make it clear you kick/replace any players that consistently die and/or lag. Naturally, you should be very experienced, decently geared, and never die first to avoid mockery. Keep a 'blacklist' of players.

-2 heals and 2-3 DPS can easily live to titan 20%... Any healer that consistently dies and/or cannot heal in phase 5 should be replaced!

-Before starting attempts, go over things with your group. 100% understanding of mechanics is required for successful completion.

-During attempts, no one should type in party chat unless it is informative. Otherwise, they should shut up.

-The way my group won: Setup: DRG failDRG PLD MNK BRD BLM SCH WHM, no LB build, LB1'd the heart, 1 DRG dead at beginning of phase 5 to the end, DRG LB3'd for win. Basically, was a 7 man run.

-If you have any relic friends, invite them. I ended up winning without any relics.

Indeed, relic weapons is not needed.
Had a marathon at this guy yesterday, both with server folks and DF.
90+ wipes, I shit you not.... but we won in the end...

The group I won with, had a relic bard (not +1), a DRG and PLD with garuda weapons, the rest had ifritt weapons including me. 2x drg, 1 mnk, pld, whm, sch, 2x brd.
We never used LB on the heart, we manged it just fine without.
A lv 3 healer LB saved us from wiping to stomp in phase 5, and got the dead SCH up. A DRG died close to finish, but we made it. It was just amazing.

22½ hours of Titan fighting, 9 different groups, 90+ wipes.... Dont think I have ever focused so much on 1 stinking fight a whole day before.

Anywho, the Titan pugs I won with didn't need to threaten anyone while forming the party, and we still won in the end. Guess its the culture. And I've come verrry close to winning a with a DF group, with 2 scholars, no lie.

Then you should do the right thing and drop. :P

After wasting about 25 hours on this over the weekend I am going to form my own shout groups in future and be strict with entry requirements just like the OP suggests, unless I beat it with my FC before I get round to that. It's the only way to win and if you are that person who dies then you're not ready to join such a group nevermind create one.

The groups that don't have strict entry requirements aren't going to win because people join these who think they can dodge but in reality fall apart after the heart. I can't blame them, how else are they going to improve? DF groups aren't going to get that far.

The fact that "relic weapons arent needed" was even mentioned was full derp... no duh they aren't needed, the fight is designed around people not having them hence its part of the relic quest... man oh man this community is lulz

Yeah but Garuda is like 50 times easier than Titan, which is why I didn't comment on that sentence. Garuda is less about dodging and more about DPS, dodging is usually the cause of a Titan fail because it's harder than just DPSing.

Though I did miss your line of almost winning with a DF group with 2 SCH but it depends what you mean by almost. I'd think 2 SCH is next to impossible because they aren't very good at AoE cures and Tumult will kill you late in the fight without good AoE heals. DF also gimps you by giving you 2 tanks, and while that doesn't make it impossible it lowers your DPS resulting in a longer fight and more chance of wiping since Tumult increases in every rotation.

I'm probably wrong that strict entry is "the only way to win" (I'm sure someone on here posted they won in DF once) but it's by far the best and you're just setting yourself up for a lot of wasted time/headaches doing it any other way.

I think the main piece of advice I would give anyone running this is: Be patient. Going ape shit because you wiped isn't helping anyone, it may be some peoples first time, if it is explain the mechanics coherently and simply, expect to die atleast a couple of times, don't nerd rage at people as it usually makes them preform worse, always keep an upbeat attitude, even if your the only one talking, after a wipe saying something like "ok that was practice we can win this time " it makes everyone feel much better.

Hey a relic +1 is required for Praetorium these days! At least if you believe the shouters in Mor Dhona.
Which I find hilarious because they do that trying to knock a couple of minutes off the run time but in the end they spend about an hour forming a group that could have taken 5 minutes. Over all they end up with less tomestones per hour. But that's getting off topic.

I got my relic saturday with similar rules in the shout party.

We got it in roughly one hour, ~7 attempts, two people kicked and my cat turning off the PC when Titan was at 5%, wiping everyone (I was healer and he used Tumult right after) forcing us to redo the battle and win again .
