My Epic attempt to get an Ifrit Sword - ongoing -

Too many people I run with blame the SCH and SMN books. Apparently, those drop a whole lot for the people I've run with.

The two successful Garuda runs I did today: SCH and SMN books. People weren't happy...

The ifrit weapon is more or less unnecessary. GC weapon or DL weapon from WP are both sufficient 'till you get your garuda weapon. This is especially true if you're a tank. If you were a damage dealer, it may have been a different story.

Why are people even bothering with Ifrit weapons ? Just do Garuda you can do that fight easily with a GC weapon.

Some people like to collect all the weapons?

Decided for funsies I'd post my drops! So far:

I had to kill Ifrit 130 times to get my cudgel for BLM. The direct drop thing is just stupid -- they need to change it to a token.

27 kills for Ifrit's harpoon, picked up monk wep and the SCH wep too from greed rolls

Not ifrit but it took me 63 runs to get my Garuda book for my Scholar.

Wow 130 kills? Holy crap. That suddenly makes my 63 look like nothing! I don't envy you, I'd go mad if that was me. XD
