Traits and the Reset of Points

So I was looking at what I could buy with pugilist guild marks and I saw the trait Muscle Memory. The description is: Converts an attribute point allocation of Strength +5 into Intelligence +5. Can someone explain exactly what it does and the benefit of it?

It sounds like 5 of my 67 STR would go to my 21 INT, making my stats 62 STR and 26 INT. I was unsure if this is actually the case because I don't see how this benefits a pugilist. (It costs a single point to up my INT at this point, but more than one for upping my STR, so why would I want to transfer some of my more expensive STR to my less expensive INT?)

Also, I know that there is a way to reset points, but does anyone know how much it does per tick and how often you have to wait before you can do it again? (Or how long it would take to get back all your points from a physical level of 50).

It's not very useful for your PUG, but Muscle Memory is great for mages or crafters that use INT. I'm currently getting GLA to 36 for Muscle Memory II for my CON. The ones that convert mental attributes to physical ones are correspondingly sold at both DoM guilds for marks (Will to Power, Driven by Faith, Complete Control).

Each reassign appears to take a fixed amount off each stat and refund the points for both stats and elements. I may be wrong on the fixed amount part. You can reset at lower physical levels frequently, like every 30 minutes. It scales up, and at level 50 it takes 3 or 4 hours before you can reassign again.

Yes, it's very stupid how that works.

Like Robert suggested (Robert's always right ), Muscle Memory isn't really designed to help your Pug. It's supposed to help your mage classes. So you can have your points put into Strength for Pug, plug in Muscle Memory, and quickly become a more effective mage.

Mages have similar Traits that benefit melee classes, so they'll convert (for example) 5 points of intelligence to 5 points of strength (or whatever). The idea appears to be to encourage players to level all classes, if they want.

Keep in mind that there appear to be caps for stat points per level. So if you're a level 40 Pug and you've got 120 points in Strength, when you switch to your level 20 Conjurer, you (apparently) only get the benefit from 76 of those points. (Here's a chart of what the stat cap appears to be for each rank. Link in text.) So when you switch to lower level jobs, it's beneficial to equip stuff like Muscle Memory, which will take points out of Strength (where you're capped anyway) and put them into some other attribute, where you can get the benefit from the increased attribute.

    Have fun!
