Not spell casts but weaponskills. If you pacify them before their cast bar is complete, the weaponskill will effectively cancel.

I am 41 and continue to use it to this day. Reason I chose PLD over WAR is I love shields and tend to enjoy the skills that weave Shields into it (Cover, Shield Lob/Bash/Swipe for example). The pacification effect (when not immune, of course) is very nice and a main reason I enjoy it. For 6/3/1 seconds I don't have to worry about a skill being used against me and if the pacification effect is actived during a cast but before it's completion it will prevent the ability from activating. I have stopped many abilities from many enemies with this and is a nice way to weave it in so I don't lose my Stun resistance. Whether this works in higher levels I will be eager to see. But having two interrupts on different timers and resistances makes for good mitigation from the strong abilities. The pacification symbol looks like a "w" in a red square. If that symbol is there when the cast bar finishes, if it is an ability (not a spell) then it has never activated on me.
damage wise shield swipe does more damage over time than your 1/2/3 combo if you could use both continuously:
Fast blade= 150 pot, Savage= 200 pot, and Rage=260 pot, Average pot= (150+200+260= 610)/3= 203.33 damage over time Vs 210 potency of Shield swipe It also doesn't interrupt the cool down and has low Tp cost. The only time i think this isn't true is if you have a warrior iwth storm's eye up on the boss because then you combo gets +10% damage. Also seeing as how threat is very manageable if people are using their abilities effectively; you should most likely be able to cast shield swipe every time its up and still be top threat by a lot.
