Absolutely not. They're called primals, which insinuates they're old and have been around for some time. You wouldn't expect that to look techy, would you?

Technically, there's almost always advanced civilizations that are quite old and more technological than modern civilizations and certain beasts come in mechanical form - Think about FFV and the Omega Weapon for example.

You don't want Primals. You want Eidolons. Fal'cie.

The terms for summons are interchangeable depending on the FF you're playing and who you ask. Even in FFXIV, the Garleans call them Eikons, not Primals.
