Worst end game community ever?

No "pro" players are running Wanderer's Palace. What you experienced was a bunch of condescending wannabees. It's easy to act big and tough behind a computer screen. Don't sweat it.

I'm thinking some of the fuel for toxic behaviour lies in the game design in itself. It is made to speed you up, without proper time and without proper care - at the same time it forced us all to mix, casuals and hardcoregrinders, who are in no way discouraged from recklessness and are themselves forced to grind dungeons in a numbing fashion and an unsocial enviroment which just adds to the problem.

I'm not saying we cannot become nicer as a community or won't. But I believe big changes will require a redesign of possibly quite a few aspects of this game and at the very least clever features/adjustments to how we are being forced to play this game.

personally i think the trouble lie in the community more than in the game.
most of the trouble come from the fact people are not patient anymore... if they don't get anything from it, they don't want to do it. worst they want to rush all.

i mostly play with a friend from america, while i'm french, we do a loooooot of DF at low, middle and end game. how we can't be burned out? simply by not doing always the same thing...
we need 8 amdapor for get capped... we don't do it all in one day, the max must be 2 time a day. the rest of the time we don't do the same stuff, we play another class (for get other skill or simply for extend our knowledge about the game) we do gathering, crafting, or simply talking.

people in end game don't do this (for most of them), they don't care, they are playing the game in the wrong way. most of them focus on one class or one type of class. after, they think they know how best the game must be played... and act all mighty and hard on first timer...

we was all noob at the start and some must remember this, instead to try to change the game... change yourself first.

anyway, with my friend we have seen the bad and the good from DF, but do we will stop to use it? never! the thrill to encounter people and beat a challenge with people we don't know is far stronger than beat a challenge with always the same people!

Been lucky so far. Only 2 douches seen.

First was in CM but rest of the group just ignored him and he shut up after a while and second was a tank in AK that was just yelling how high he was and if we liked his Odin armor.

After reading all this I've decided that if I'm "speed-running" in a duty-finder based group and someone wants to watch a cut-scene I will stand with that person until they are done, even if I am not watching the scene too. It would also be cool for SE to add an emote for "ball-kicking". People are always new once. I'm sooo glad I found an awesome FC. Of course I never really play when I'm in a hurry and just kind of mosey my way through things. How the heck do you heal a speed run anyway? I guess I'll find out when I get to 50...

lol at this being the worst end game community XD. Play another MMO, get to end game and compare the difference. FFXIV actually is quite good.

Also, if you just hit 50; please don't think you can run HM Garuda and HM Titan, the scrubs queueing for these two primals when they are in full Artifact really piss me off, Ifrit is level 50 ilevel. When you get gear you run Garuda and Titan.

New 50s can piss of hardworking 50s by doing stuff like this, it is really annoying to work so hard for your gear only to be grouped with someone who doesn't think they need to pull their weight.

Flip side to the OPs statement. Always think on the other side guys.

Tell them they are bad for trying to speed run CM with the Duty Finder then take the time to enjoy the cut scenes. I know I did and every just had to suck it.

Also, to be fair you shouldn't judge an whole community based on 2 runs or more. It's a really low sample and I feel like you got carried by your emotion.

Worst community? nah i think League of Legends will hold onto that title for a long time. I have actually had very pleasant groups while leveling will probably change when i hit 50 but if leveling is any indication i'm optimistic.

Yea people don't understand. There is no need to rush. Part of the mistake is tokens. All the darklight should drop from something. Period.

The second mistake is the community.
I had a BRD yell at me for "not focusing one target" in AK as a SMN because I happen to cast Bane to spread my dots and speed up taking down the group of mobs.

A lot of these so called elitists don't even know how other jobs play which I find HILARIOUS.

I think it's funny that people think the Duty Finder is the "community". A lot of the people doing DF stuff are the people who can't/won't make friends, and therefore aren't part of any kind of a community. Everyone knows the DF is terrible. Everyone. And don't think it's just bad for "newbies" who got to deal with them "elitest jerks". Normal humans who happen to be competent also have to deal with total scrubs ruining AK. People showing up in AF or worse. Level 20 jewelry. Not knowing what to do and not even attempting to learn. iLVL checks on content can't come soon enough, but then you'll just have geared scrubs not trying to learn. Inexperienced is fine, but some people just expect everything to be cake and don't even make an effort. For non-DF stuff, people refusing to HP and teleport back. Wasting everyone's time. Last night I tanked Dhorme Chimera on SMN (successfully) because we wanted to do it on a whim before maintenance and the only available tank was some guy with level 30 jewelry and a level 42 axe. Ain't nobody got time for that. And ain't nobody getting their relic without even iLVL 50 gear. He'll be DFing Titan later this month in that same gear after lucking his way through the rest of it, and everyone's gonna be mad. FOR GOOD REASON.

Find an FC that isn't a bunch of jerks, join up, and get stuff done. That's your community. Or, if you're into that, get in one that is a bunch of jerks, I guess.
