Worst end game community ever?

Hit 50 about 3 days ago. This weekend is the first chance I've had to play around with some of the end game content. So far I've gotta say the overall dbagishness, eliteness of the end game players has seriously made me reconsider subscribing.

Experience #1

Doing palace VIA DUTY FINDER for the story-line. Get in. The first thing I get is two guys talking about how bad me (and a few others) armor is, it's crap, why are we here, blah,blah blah.

Then the 'speed grinding starts'. Absolutely no watching cut scenes were told. Chop chop. Throughout the whole map were constantly harped on for making mistakes, told how bad we are as DPS, yada, yada.

Here's my problem: You have all these "pro" players essentially farming the same dungeon over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Putting ungoldy amounts of time into farming their very special gear, then bitching whenever new players come along and disturb their mindless dungeon grind.

Experience #2
On my second end game raid again found VIA THE DUTY FINDER (I emphasize this because its not like I sought out groups looking for experience), the tank again decides it's a speed farm. Again we are all told no cut scenes allowed and to "chop chop". three of the first timers get turned around and the tank goes on without them. Two bosses end up being fought with two guys locked out for watching cut scenes. Like the last dungeon were yelled at the whole time.

The end game community in FF14 is terrible. It's like all the turds from WoW migrated to FF14.

A few points:

= IF you enjoy the game why are you farming the easiest and fastest dungeon over and over?

= IF you play MMO's because you want to play ONLINE with Other players why are you so anti-social?

=If you don't like pugs, don't want to run dungeons with new players WHY do you use the duty finder?

And for SE, why the hell did you make it so players can skip cut scenes and move ahead in the dungeon without the person watching the cut scene know? How did you manage to overlook this?

I want to like this game. From what I heard the older Final fantasy community was a good one, this community at end game is anything but. It's elitist with apparently no desire to try the more challenging aspects of the game, with no desire to communicate with other players and a general Dbagness attitude towards anyone not decked out like them.

A few points:

= IF you enjoy the game why are you farming the easiest and fastest dungeon over and over?

~Efficency. Simple as this. A well groomed CM can take less than 20 minutes for 100 tomes for Darklight gear.

= IF you play MMO's because you want to play ONLINE with Other players why are you so anti-social?

~Playing with Bads makes more advanced players disillusioned with new players. Had a tank 2 days ago in CM via DF that couldn't hold hate off me during ANY add waves, luckily this one is good enough to be a WHM off-tank to save the raid. The tank going afk was more advantageous for the group than him actually playing.

=If you don't like pugs, don't want to run dungeons with new players WHY do you use the duty finder?

~Because often times there aren't the people in FC/LS to put together groups. This one prefers to PUG from its own server but there are times when it must DF because it does play at off-hours.

~Simple watch Cutscenes in the Inn or put together a server PUG that wants to watch cutscenes. Don't waste everyone else's time.

~This one does feel for you, and it genuinely attempts to be patient with new players, but seeing the same mistakes over and over can become quite disconcerting.

Honestly, from what I've seen lately NA just can't handle this game.
There's absolutely no concept of anything but MAX DPS FULL TIME ALL THE TIME or GTFO


No helping anyone
No strategy
No Support

I think it'll take some time for these things to even out, and also not everyone is bad. But Holy Crap... As a community these bad attitudes/players are very very common.

I think it'll take some time for these things to even out, and also not everyone is bad. But Holy Crap... As a community these bad attitudes/players are very very common.

They are hyper-agressive and have completely ruined end game for me. It's exactly as you said: MAX DPS GOGOGOGOGOGOG or GTFO. No one talks, all they do is yell "how dare you do that", "that dps is an idiot in crap armor". It's been one of the worst experiences I've had at any end-game.

Just do it like me, put end game on hold. Find nice social FC and start helping the players that arent 50 yet. Making some friends is the best way to enjoy endgame to the "MAX" xD

If it weren't for the language barrier, I'd be in heaven on my JP server. We seem to have far, far, far fewer problems than the NA/EU server set. Buuuut, as I did, so did many thousands of others: moved to JP server during early access because it was the only server group we could ever log into, even from NA. So ya, we do have some of the dbaggery, just not as concentrated.

It's because JP don't care about all this Server First or to see who can rush to end game the fastest, to obtain the top end gear to stand around showing their e-peen. How many time JP go around posting server first? Don't see it happen a lot. How many time NA does it? A lot. JP work together to reach their Goals, providing tips and encouragement on the way. In the end it always get the job done. What they end up is have a strong and nice communities. They are humble and friendly. We could learn a thing or two from them.
