On the Android version of the software token app for FF14. On Google play I seen some peoples reviews on the app where they said the app would random reset on them. Making them have to remove the software token from there account and reapply it again.

Least on my Android smartphone I got both internal memory and a microSD card installed. By default all software are installed on the internal memory of the phone. Once installed I could goto 'manage apps' and move the software in question to the SD card.

I know some apps are very picky and don't like to run from the SD card.

It wasn't hacked. People just don't want to consider that their PC has been compromised in some way.

The players who have reported 3102 in the last week, have had their accounts taken over by botters, and none of them have said that they were using the software authenticator before it happened. Now the question is, how exactly are the bots able to jack someone's login credentials?

    a) The player bought gil from the hackers, and had their account compromised
    b) The player downloaded any number of botting/hacking tools (which all have backdoors in them)
    c) The player plays the game on a shared PC (family/friends/roommates/library/etc), and cruft they download is responsible
    d) Your email was hacked
    e) you use the same email address or username AND password on other games

A few days ago there were a few reports about the launcher not working. I never saw this. This is the typical suspect behavior when a MITM (man in the middle) attack is in play.

You did forgot f.) Site was compromised.

That would make sense for a MTM attack since a - e didn't happen.

If you have stuck to the facts in this thread. f sounds more than likely.

If the site was compromised there would be 600,000 people complaining, not the 5 or so in the tech forum and probably a few more who actually went to the trouble of using the ATO form.

Well, Square decided to close out the ticket yesterday with no answers, all they did was copy and paste some random text off google. I responded asking for an answer. The "support bot" forwarded the ticket to their superiors... assuming the superiors can understand English ...

Really sounds like they outsourced their tier 1 "support" to either robots or a non-english country.

According to their Job application sites, that wouldn't be far from the truth.
