You should have gotten a "Software Token registered serial number" along with an "Emergency Removal Password"

I can only imagine that most people skipped over this step of writing it down as it won't display it again.. SE put a post up about this last week and you can follow these steps to acquire the information your looking for.. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...b0d7f0b23b3aa1

I don't understand how you can be hacked with a software token. The only eventuality I can see that would cause this would be if someone had access to both your phone and your computer via a virus.

If this was the case I would imagine there would be a lot more people stating they where hacked with a token. So far, many of the other posts on the forum seem to be from users without the token.

Very odd then, all I kept reading over and over was that you get an emergency password to recover your stuff should the app reset and invalidate you. Problem is they buried the link for it and many missed it/ lost it, which once again is on them for losing it.

Of course several of the reviews I read were from Play Store, so yknow.. take that how you will lol.

Sorry bout your troubles, really seems like a hack to me though, some HAVE claimed to have been hacked with a token attached, that stuff isn't invulnerable..

You DO get a removal password, when i set mine up i did anyway, on the final page it says, your token has been attached, then it tells you to make a note of your emergency removal password and keep it safe and it shows the password. If you didnt take a note of it you can access it via the mog station.

Interesting, I have the serial number in the email, no emergency password. Went to the mog station, and there it is!

Not that the above will matter unless Squaresoft correct this massive bug.

Except for people in this forum with a token I hope this gets fixed by Tuesday, if not I'd have to close the account and get a full refund from Amazon.

I wouldnt be suprised if the software token app itself, in the manner you add it to the account, is bogus, and the site fake, and all the nasty crap that comes with it, for them to get access THAT fast to your account.

Ah. I never considered that square-enix.com website was hacked. That would make sense as to why there are tons (and growing) threads notifying of the hack/3102 error. If that is the case, SE has even a more massive problem then I initially thought. Interesting why they haven't reported the security breach yet ..... could be trying to sweep it under a rug and hope it goes away. I'll be sure to notify Amazon if this continues. Wouldn't want them to get caught in the data breach.

It wasn't hacked. People just don't want to consider that their PC has been compromised in some way.

The players who have reported 3102 in the last week, have had their accounts taken over by botters, and none of them have said that they were using the software authenticator before it happened. Now the question is, how exactly are the bots able to jack someone's login credentials?

    a) The player bought gil from the hackers, and had their account compromised
    b) The player downloaded any number of botting/hacking tools (which all have backdoors in them)
    c) The player plays the game on a shared PC (family/friends/roommates/library/etc), and cruft they download is responsible
    d) Your email was hacked
    e) you use the same email address or username AND password on other games

A few days ago there were a few reports about the launcher not working. I never saw this. This is the typical suspect behavior when a MITM (man in the middle) attack is in play.

You did forgot f.) Site was compromised.

That would make sense for a MTM attack since a - e didn't happen.

If you have stuck to the facts in this thread. f sounds more than likely.
