Is the registration code tied to your PSN or the system itself?

My boyfriend does not own a PC capable of running FFXIV. So in order to play with me, he purchased a PS3 copy. However, I'm curious if the registration code that comes with the game is bound to his PSN account or to the PS3 system itself.

The reason I am asking is because we'd like to know if he would need to bring his PS3 over to my house every time he visited and we planned on playing together. Or if he would be able to install the game from his disk on my PS3 and sign into it via his PSN account.

Registration of a PS3/PS4 version is bound to the PSN account attached to the code. You can use your PS3 access on any PS3 with the game installed on it, just like you can use your PC access on any PC with the game installed.

It's based on PSN. Your PSN ID can only be linked to one game account though.
