Had anyone else noticed absurd animation and UI lag lately?
It happens inconsistently, though when it does happen, it tends to not go away for a good while. Here are some examples:
- I will run up to a mob and stop moving to attack, but my character will continue the running animation. I can still attack the mob, as the combat text displays damage and it seemingly loses health. The GCD activates as well. The dotted lines indicating combo abilities do not appear, but I'm unsure if the combos are actually activating and just the UI element is not displaying. I'll continue to attack the mob, but my character will not display any attack animations, only continuing the running animation.
- In a similar vein, sometimes I will attack a mob, but my character will simply freeze in the battle-ready stance while attacks go off. This has the same problem of combo notifications not displaying. Occasionally, the animations will go off after the monster is already dead, which is funny to watch but frustrating.
Note that this happens for both combat and DoH/L classes. Sometimes it's just an animation delay of 5 or so seconds; sometimes the animation simply never happens. My latency is pretty average (~120 ms or so), and there's no delay in the actual damage going out or in the activation of the GCD, so I don't think this is an internet connection problem. It's just the animations themselves.
Possibly related, I've noticed extreme delays in UI elements loading, as well as extreme delays in NPCs noticing I'm trying to talk to them. I game with my fiance, and oftentimes we'll run up to an NPC to turn in or pick up a quest or whathaveyou, and he'll be able to interact immediately, while I have sometimes sat around for over a minute waiting for the NPC to even just load on my screen.
In case it's something with my computer, my system specs are:
i5 2500K
GTX 680
8 GB ram
Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 motherboard
So, am I alone in this, or has anyone else experienced similar problems?
[edit] >_> The MB was a typo. Sorry.
