Its been almost a decade, I turn 25 next month, I just dont have the time to log in and play like I used to, its not that I don't want to, I just have too much work to do.
I love it when people take hyperbole seriously.. I mean really, we're the same age (I turned 25 two months ago), and I too do not have time to play this game or any other like I played FFXI. Not nearly enough.

Given that... I still cannot justify paying to repeat... the.... same... leves... every... 36... hours.... ad.... nauseum.

    ..august ? They'll release this mid-june :||
Notice how I said "roadmap for the future of this game". Thats why I said August. By August most of us will be able to gauge whether or not this game is going to make it. I pray that it does.

You should be ashamed of yourselves for saying that you would pay for the game in its current state. It is a great disservice to the entire MMO fanbase/industry to tell a company "I will pay for you unfinished pile of shit."

    I'm done with you fools.

I can not understand why people who don't like the game would waste their time to play it. It completely boggles me. It also boggles me why they would waste their time to repeatidly comment on a game they don't like. Why aren't they playing another game? If they don't like the game they aren't going to pay. Maybe they should try wow or something idk. I feel really sorry that they are wasting their time playing a game they hate though.

For me personally I don't enjoy the game currently so I don't play it at all, I still keep an eye on it but right now I refuse in using my time on something I don't enjoy and value enough to pay for. As such I would not pay for a monthly fee, if I enjoyed the game and could justify spending my time on it I would pay it without a second thought though, if for no other reason to support the game. I don't quite get people that say they enjoy the game, are still playing it 6 months later and still would not pay for it. Is $15 more valuable than your free time?

Yep, subs get activated, everyone leaves, the game becomes unsustainable and analysts predict that it wont break even in 4 years and the game dies and you've wasted money and gotten really angry! :P (Saying SE would never shut this game down ever is about as stupid as saying Sony wont get hacked... 3 times)
I don't think this is honestly true, if they started charging tomorow the people that would leave woule be a) the ones that will quit anyway when its time to pay, so no loss or b) the ones that would return and pay when the game comes upto standard anway. Honestly I see no loss from charging at all aside from lower player numbers for a while, but they are already at that point anyway.

How is A no loss? Have you not read this thread? Most people posting will not pay, thus if you ask for money they will leave and bam you have lost yourself a significant playerbase and why exactly will they come back? They will just ignore the time spend in other games they have gone to?

For me, I'm sticking around until TERA EU release, then i will leave and see how it is in the future but i'll most likely never get stuck into XIV again unless TERA does something drastically bad that makes me dislike the game. But im not going to put all my time into TERA just to leave it, and others will be the same on any other game. They will have moved on.

If SE said "Okay we're going to start charging in June" I would not pay, and I'd check it out in a few years to see how it got on, but i doubt even then it'd be up to par on what current games are doing.

XIV is now like ps3, it will always be behind, it will always have the lower side of things and even though it might hit a nice peak, it'll come crashing down by some stupid event (xi = abyssea, ps3 = psn hack) which will reduce the numbers by great.

to me most of the people that are staying and hoping the game gets better are only staying because it is free. i mean look at the vast majority of players that quit the game and it was FREE. the people that quit and say they will come back when it is more fun and sign in for a few minutes every patch only sign in because it is free. how many people that quit the free game do you think will pay a monthly fee to continue checking to see if the game is better?

personally i would not pay for the game at this point, but i will gladly pay for it once the game has enough content to enjoy.

Ding ding ding - we have a winner. Finally something I can agree with you on.

Because the game is free and is technically a beta - I spend some time on it... but if I had to pay for this - I would not be here.

that's my thinking as well. we both want the game to get better. we just have different opinions on what we feel better is. i have no problems with differing opinions as long as the game gets better in the long run. imo i'd love to see content that gives us both what we want in the long run because the more people they make happy the more successful the game is in the long run.

You guys are such battered housewives...

First off I never said I don't like the game. If I didn't like the game I wouldn't be here. What I said is that there is not much in the game (functional or not) to warrant paying for it. I'm sorry I refuse to spend money on an MMO that occupies about 5-6 hours of my week at best.

That is the sad state of this game. There are still bugs and flaws within the game that have been there since its inception - completely overlooked. That is NOT something you pay for or should be condoning. You shouldn't be promoting bad performance - you should be telling them I'm not playing till X, Y, Z happens. Doing otherwise is harmful to the business. You think you're helping but you're not.

Secondly, I will reiterate what I mentioned in the last page cause it seems to have been missed.

This game is now 8 months (?) into its lifespan and still only has about 30% of the content that Rift (released in Feb-Mar) and TERA (which is beta) has. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE!
