[SUGGESTION] : How to slow the spam from gold spammers, please support

One way to slow the gold spammers down is:

Limit the amount of messages a person can say in /shout in a certain time period. Say, only allowed 3 lines of chat every 15 seconds. If they go over, it blocks them for 30 seconds from that chat.

This slows gold spamming down immensely. Please do something. I was in Gardania on Balmung, and seriously when you have 6 gold spammers non-stop spamming it's impossible to get their names to black list them fast enough.

Also please, please god, add a Blacklist feature by being able to click their name in chat.....

Fully agree we need some system tools/functions to help ease this pain... it's really awful at the moment.

If you get spam via tell, remember you can blacklist very fast with: /blist add <r> (will blacklist the last who sent you a tell)

Make it so that you have to be level 10 or higher to use any chat other than /s /w or /fc. This might not stop all of them but it's a start
Limit the amount of lines in text to 4(mainly for fc ads)
Add of restriction on chat to 10 secs for message and repeat spam extends it
Have a right click on name /report for RMT with confirm box
Investigate any guilds these RMT may be in to see if its a RMT guild

etc, etc

and don't buy gil people, can't say it enough.

Uldah has become a nightmare everytime I step in there. It's a spamfest, so sickening that makes me hurries up my business and bail out from it.

Does regular client became so cheap that rmts can abuse it whenever they like?

I agree, its just a spamfest of gilsellers at the moment. Most of the shouts completely block up my entire chat log, refreshing every 5 seconds or so. I would greatly appreciate a right click -> blacklist option, as well as a right click -> blacklist and report for gilselling shout/spammer.

It is a shame that this spamming is getting in the way of enjoying such a beautiful game. Indeed, I frequently miss shouts for teaming up or dungeon runs from these. Thank you for listening.

I also like the idea of adding a report gold spammer option by clicking their name in chat. It would help the gm's find these spammers and hopefully in time deter gold spammers from their unwanted invasion.

I agree with this thread though! Please implement a block feature and spam filter.

OR the engineers perform a basic regex for repeated sub-phrases within a shout?
OR you get muted or can't shout more than X times in a given period?
OR you have a GM sitting in town who suspends accounts who do this?

Developers feel free to pick any of these obvious solutions...

Sadly blacklist doesn't work 100%.
I have a guy on mine who I can't send a tell to, but his spam still shows up.
