Acolyte's Robe - The Ultimate Frustration of Dungeon Loot Tables

Oh god, that burned out feeling of frustration that many of you have experienced.. I have it.

I've been playing this game for a few weeks, and it has been awesome getting used to some of the gameplay, particularly having everything on one character (long time WoW, Rift, Tera, TES beta). So far most of the experiences have been pretty awesome.

But there's the loot in dungeons. I'm a big fan of aesthetics in games. I want to look as powerful as my character feels. Rift's costume system did the trick for that, and WoW had some pretty great looking sets for many levels. But this.. For casters, I'm stuck wearing bath robes that everyone else is wearing. I have been crafting as well, and even the Disciple of War outfits were decent. The custom made scale armor was incredible at level 5! The other armor sets were great, and my paladin looks badass in the level 30 scale set and even has the other heavy iron set to trade with! But my casters are still in bath robes.

Then I saw it, the Acolyte's Robe. Oh man, this is one sweet looking set. And then the Battlemage Robe at 32! Incredible! But wait, it can't be crafted, and it can't even be sold! I have to loot it! I looked up a database on some FF wikis and found the source: the first three dungeons, particularly Sastasha.

Ok, let's do this. Wait, it only has a chance to drop on the last boss! 1 chance per run, and the loot table covers the entire set as well as other items for other classes! Fine, whatever, I'll get one.

I just wrapped up run 24. I have seen two acolyte pieces: pants and gloves. No robe. I have to run around in bath robes and shepherd outfits for another 12 levels to MAYBE get a decent looking piece of gear at 32? No, I won't do it. This is ridiculous. Why is it so arbitrarily decided what greens are bind on pickup and bind on equip? In the market, there are two green items that can be sold after looting, but not this item. Why? Why can't I craft something that looks decent? Why can't I buy it? Why can't it drop more often? Why can't it be in the loot pool for EVERY boss or even chests? Why do my disciples of war get to look awesome, and my disciples of magic are forced to look like sheep herders from ancient Syria?

I have been so determined to get this one piece, but with 24 runs, surely you can see this is ridiculous. I feel bad for the people who design these great looking sets knowing their work modeling and texturing these will never be fully appreciated because very, very few people will have these full sets. I don't even want to run these dungeons on other classes because I know the robe will eventually drop and the fact I won't be able to roll need on it will murder my spirit. Seriously.

Can't we get rid of BoP, or increase the loot tables for these set items, or any other solution? And please don't come at me with, "So that it's rare and those who have it feel accomplished!" Some people get it on their first go, and it's a level 15 item. It's hardly a bragging right.

TL;DR 24 runs in one dungeon trying to get one green item, never even dropped. Why is it this way?

Hey, New poster and all, You can edit your original post to bypass the character limit and not have to post over and over and over. its a neat trick.

Anyway, Yah, Dungeon Loot systems are tarded, and mage gear looks like Grandma's Bath robes... Not news to anyone here saddly... I can only sit and hope they introduce a Vanity system, Expand Dying, or add Mage armor that doesn't make me feel like I'm wearing my grandmas clothes...

IDK if this chart fully describes being shortsighted, But you seem to have plenty of experience with it so could elaborate.

I feel your pain...I ran Stone Vigil so many times trying to get my Shadow Bow to drop and still have not had it happen. I have now given up because I am now leveled past it have my level 49 Crab Bow from my FC chest that someone left for me...yeah. This is just part of how the dev's made this game...only LUCKY people can get them or the players that are willing to run it countless times until they get it to drop. I have heard of people beating Ifrit HARD 60 some odd times and have still not had their weapon drop. We have to get use to it or we will be very pissed the whole time. The system should really take into account how many times you have completed a task and up your chances to make it more fair.
