I agree I was a little dissapointed with the amount of voice overs in the main quests, I expected alot more than there is.

I can live without it, most voice actors bother me.
I'm argumentative.

I think the main story quests should, but for other quests I can't see that as something that's needed, but then again, hearing a little bit of talk would be a welcome change of pace, as in you run up to the NPC and they say "hello". This could also go very badly, so perhaps we'll see more of this in an expansion.![]()

As much as i would love this, i think that the amount of time and effort needed to do this could be better used.
Add in more sidequests, more dungeons, instances etc.

I looked through the (english)cast on IMDB that they have listed for this game and saw many names I liked and definitely wouldn't mind hearing more of, especially in the main mission cutscenes. It was such a bummer finding most of the missions so silent. It feels like they just kinda gave up on the idea of voicing them, especially after the intro movie and the first scenario. For those who, for whatever reason, don't like the voices, perhaps an additional slider could be added to the audio to allow voices to be muted during cutscenes.
I think idle chatter and banter that doesn't trigger a cutscenes should remain text-only though.

As it is now both seem fine, Voices are Perfect(great casting) and Voiceless is Good(using imagination). Of course more of both is always a plus, so no worries.
And maybe there should also be an Option Setting to which between Voice Languages if and when more voice actors are implied. I'd love to here from many different sides (Japanese, English, Français, Deutsches ) and our different Ascents we have going for everyone of the same Language; [example: 5 different types of English, 5 different types of Japanese, 5 different types of Français, 5 different types of Deutsches].

I agree on quests needing voiceovers. They are too bland compared to the intro sequences of each starting points.
That's what I think too - since we only have limited voice options anyway, they could use them to voice our characters. My guess on why they didn't is probably because the character voices were made by Japanese actors and some of them might not have the proficiency to speak English well?
Uhm. 1 minute of music @128kbit/s is about 1MB small. The whole soundtrack currently ingame is about 166MB big. Voice compresses even better, without sounding too crappy, so space limitations are definitely not the reason for missing voiceovers. Even if they were, you could still stream the audio from the BD.
That won't happen, simply because of the costs. I would prefer to have Japanese voiceovers with subs in the language of your choice, but that won't happen either, sadly. And maybe there should also be an Option Setting to which between Voice Languages if and when more voice actors are implied. It's not a priority but I hope they do add some more voice overs into FFXIV
