Tourmaline or Turquoise?

In order to get properly geared for instances or hard modes until I get Darklight set, I was looking on the Market Board and was wondering which one was better for WHM:

Tourmaline offers Mind and Piety
Turquoise offers Mind and Spell Speed

Is there one which WHM should focus on getting entirely or a mix of both?

Best scenario - get either, then socket multiple material into them to get spell speed/piety into it to balance it.

I went with Turquoise, simply because I think (but could be completely wrong) it's got a better chance of assimilating into a Quicktongue III. As you're running AK you can just keep replacing your jewelry and selling the materia.

It's random But will still be something relevant to mages.

I'm personally biased towards Tourmaline for White Mages. Spell Speed is very nice, but White Mages don't have such a reliable means of MP regeneration that Scholars do, so IMO you need lots of MP and Shroud of Saint's Refresh I think scales with your maximum mana. Plus, you have Presence of Mind in case you need lots of Spell Speed for a moment.

However, the best answer would probably be to just grab whatever and slot in what you're missing with Materia if you can afford it. Or buy Darklight accessories ASAP, which have both.
