Perhaps you should expand your use of the internet outside of games, game forums, youtube, etc, much of the internet is fine, and is at a far more mature level than the aforementioned areas, the problem is not the internet, it is the stupidity and immaturity of many of those who play online games.

Well FC's and players like that will eventually realize one thing. They are the most unproductive part of the community and will isolate themselves.

It happens all the time within 6 months. Those shell/FC number plummet. People are annoyed. They build a bad rep for themselves. Ofen are the worst at HM content, and later end up scrambling to find a established FC still running when theirs falls apart. Yet probably ended up on numerous block/ignore lists.

I hope they add cross realm black list so everyone can put the jerks on it and then never ever get grouped with them again. They do need to make sure that DF takes this into consideration when forming groups too. It needs to have room for 1000 people, and it needs to be account wide. That way, after subs start up, you should be able to ignore most of the jerks you run with and never have to see them again. Ignore is such a beautiful thing, it's like suddenly.... the jerk.... it's just GONE.....forever! =D

Also our battle groups are small enough that people who are real jerks will eventually notice their queues getting longer and longer as more and more people blist them. It would be great!

Forcing a slow leveling would be the best way to deal with this. Nerf Fate xp by 90%.
Nerf Tomestone drops by 70-80%.

Make everything too painful for those who only rush and have no plans to play this game over a longer period of time.

There's plenty of other MMO's out there where you can get to max level in a day and stand around in a circle with all your other max geared pals showing off your epeen, tellin less-geared and new players "l2p".

And just think of the shitstorm on the forums, it would be something to behold!

that's the worst idea. The majority of SE's players are casual players with responsible lives. Make it to hard and they will kiss most their subscriptions goodbye, and the hopes of good expansions with it.

Personally I think the genre has hit an impass. People want to have a friendly, helping community but at the same time people cry they don't have time for slow games, they have real lives now, and want streamlined content. I don't think mmos are for you if you don't have the kind of time they "used" to take. The reason is hard content builds a community. Most everyone on these forums will remember xi. I played xi from dec 2004 until abysea or w/e expansion was released. I started playing wow at that time, some of my family had been on it for years and convinced me to try it. The first thing I noticed right away is how detached my character felt. You had to put in an incredible amount of time to really accomplish things on your character in xi, so you either learned to get along with others and help people too, or you were labled badly, quit, tried to reroll maybe only to find out it would take you way too long to even reach where you were before, so you quit the game.

The very core of the problem with mmo communities IMO is the dungeon finder itself. Remember even in wow when you had to search for parties in trade chat of you're own server? Honestly I bet I've made 1 friend for every 50 I made when I actually had to find people, chat with them, walk to dungeons instead of just insta-que ect.

But a lot of the mmo community says they want casual content, easy mode playtime, and what it ends up leading to is your only interested in progression at the quickest rate possible. Even just now on my server, I saw someone shouting "lfm CM, relics only 5/8". I had to laugh, and then blacklisted them. Sure they pay for the game too, why can't they do whatever they want? Because the game is multiplayer, the experience of playing with others should be the number 1 reason we are all here, not to just faceroll content asap.

I personally believe most of these kind of people that this thread is about will eventually leave when they realize that this game is not free to play. Or at least, they most certainly won't be the ones who stick with these game for the longest.
So, I think this issue will be healed with time. Hopefully.

Well you need thicker skin if you're gonna consort with the ilks of MMO communities. I personally would have just enjoyed a front row seat to their fights and collected my 100 stones at the end while I watched TV or something. Troll the troll.

Duty Finder announces if one or more people is new to the content but even so, because I am new to pretty much all of the content in there, I announce my experience level with the content as soon as I get in and I look for responses to measure how the other people feel about that. So far it has been beneficial to do that. I am not a competitive person and find it is better to just tell people what to expect, not expect from me right out of the gate. If it gets to the point where it is so bad that I cannot stay with people, I will clearly say why before abandoning a duty and try to work it out first.
