Portents and Prophecy... for next Sunday??

It's been an interesting couple of weeks in the continent of Eorzea... Perceptive players noticed it unaided, but for the less sharp-eyed among us, the game development team made sure it didn't go undetected: Mysterious PC characters appearing both in cities and in camps around the continent, and letting forth much to say about the bizarre events of late; some amateur reporter's write-up from the Black Shroud ending up on the Lodestone; and all of this matching the blurry outline of that mysterious poem Yoshida quoted on his New Year salute to the player base.

Basically it boils down to this: One of the two mysterious characters appearing randomly around the world announced ominously that before the sunset, on the 6th sun of the 7h moon (one presumes of the current Hydaelyn year), the seventh purification of the Mezaya (pronounced Messiah?) prophecy of old will come to pass. This will usher the 7th umbral era. The sixth purification, the Dusty Tomes say, was by water: torrential rains that flooded the world. The seventh, one gathers from the words of the stranger, will be by fire. However, the second of the two mysterious characters, appearing in cities, warns the peoples of Eorzea about false prophets come to the land.

Now, if the prophecy is true, the date that the sixth sun of the seventh Hydaelyn moon will correspond to, on our Earth Calendar, is Sunday, May 15th... As of this writing (close to midnight on Sunday, May 8 EDT) the in-game clock informs us that this hour corresponds to the afternoon of the 6th sun in the 2nd moon, leaving almost exactly 5 moons to the day of the prophesy.

5 moons = 5 x 8 x 4 suns =160 suns = 160 hours = 6.6 days = Next Sunday afternoon.

This would also make it next Monday, May 16th, on the afternoon, in Japan: Right in the middle of a month in which Yoshida has already announced no update was forthcoming.

So... How many of you think there will be something special/terrible happening that day, and how many think it is a false prophecy?

Is this the vague indication of an update to come on Monday the 15th/16th? Or is it something that has already been added in patch 1.17a?

Or should we listen to Alfgar, the second stranger, and ignore all this, which could very well be pseudo-prophetic muck?

The most awesome thing I can imagine is logging in on whatever day this happens to find a new CGI cutscene with

this song (especially the god in fire part)

playing in the background as Eorzea is burnt and purged.

It very well could be. However, Yoshida specifically mentions, in his last letter, that this won't happen till mid June.

What I recall is that he said the full patch won't hit until June at the earliest but he may or may not be throwing in a 1.17b with some of the content into the middle of May.

All I know is, all the zones I've been in seem to ALWAYS be raining. Or doing some weather event. To date, I've barely been playing this game w/o a weather effect going on. I have yet seen any of these people, Nor been able to do the egg event. I Would assume something is going to happen, and it is tied to the weather. No mmo I've played had weather happening so often.

They wouldn't have such a consent weather going on w/o a purpose. And just because dungeon or battle changes are in mid june don;t mean something big won't happen before then. I think this underlining event is setting the stage, once the stage is set the actions will begin.

Hmm.. All I been doing since this Lovely event Arose was Talking about Thanalan and its mysteries, The Grand Companies arising to Fight the Coming Doom, NPC's Everywhere saying crazy things "Only when the Music in Thanalan is Off" That I can confirm, And also The Weather thats been picking up as of late ( Mostly Rain when the Off and on Event occurs).

Everything is Connecting so Easily that whats being said could very well come into Fruition. SE would just give us and Storyline then backlash it with very little to nothing at all. SE is on There Rebound stage and they need to make things right this time around, So I have every feeling to say that something will happen on May 15th ish or maybe its the Next 6th moon 7th sun? But that wouldnt make any since if they are doing this now wouldnt you say; and the fact they are tying this into the Hatching-Tide Event and the 6th moon and 7th sun isnt that far away from the Hatching Tide End date.

So what do I think? I think Something big is going to happen on May 15th.. Why else would the Patch be almost 1/2 a GB? and the Patch notch should very little to be quite honest... They are hiding something thats obviously a "Timed Event" to go off at a certain time.
