Where are the Mayans when you need them?!

I thought that the size of those patches (both nearly exact same size) was because they made most cliffs in starter areas walkable and they needed to update all the maps for that. Probably just fixed minor issues in the maps in 1.17a.

They didn't have to fix the maps. To fix the cliffs, they adjusted the difference in Z distances registered as an impassible barrier. I honestly think most of the patch size was due to changes not yet "turned on" such as foundations for the new battle systems and some dungeon layouts.

Yes, I also considered that, but the whole thing is written in reference to Hydaelyn chronology, so I think it's not likely.

1.18 is going to be relatively bigger than previous patches. This means that balancing is going to take more time than usual, and so we’re anticipating a somewhat longer period between patches. Even if we break off some of the content and release it ahead of time in a 1.17b patch (which me might!), 1.18 will still go live sometime in mid-June at the earliest. Sorry for that.

Maybe the one who says it's true is saying the content is coming the other saying that they ( SE ) are false and its not coming. Maybe it is there sick way of screwing with us to make us thinks it's coming and if it is it will. However, if it isn't and they can't get the content done then they can fall back and say oh well I guess the false prophets were right no content is coming. SE's way of covering there ass incase they can't roll the content out in time...

Prophecy is best when it's vague. "The 6th sun will have set and the 7th moon shine in the sky" could mean anything, including:

• the 7th of any Eorzean month. These occur about every 37 Earth hours.
• the end of the 6th day of any 7th Eorzean month. These occur about every 19 Earth days.
• the 7th of any Earth month.
• the end of the 6th day of July.

and of course:

• the last sun of the 6th Astral Era sets and the first moon of the 7th Umbral Era shines in the sky (i.e. at night, the start of every day). This occurs whenever SE wants it to. Plus it's a Gods/Twelve thing, so they don't even have to wait until the end of an Eorzean year.

The 7th Umbral Age might happen this summer, or it might happen with the PS3 release or first expansion. It doesn't have to happen soon. SE could string us along with new lore and quests each month until they're ready.
