So wouldn't it be quite simple to suspend those accounts once they have been blacklisted by more than 10 people within an hour? That way the gold spammers would be stopped in their tracks pretty fast. It would also be easy code to write and implement. Just an idea.

Several people, including myself have suggested this. The blacklist appears to be entirely client sided, since spam sometimes slips through when you load it, which wouldn't happen if it was being blocked before being sent to the client.

Stuff like this makes me sad:

That level 50 character is likely going to be stripped and/or the guild stripped. Too bad there isn't a way to , like, send a PM to a FC leader somehow.

Even better yet ...when I click on the name and it asks you if you want to send a tell...add the option to blacklist the player right from there.....this would at least make it easier to blacklist them quickly.

I really want to say this is the reason. Why would anyone trust some someone who uses hacked accounts for spamming?
