Unable to get on or play except for extreme non-peak hours

I've been trying to understand my problems that started on Wednesday and the only thing I can come up with is that when the server(s) are full, I get dumped like a second class citizen with 90000 error and if the server(s) are full, I can't even get into queue because of 2002 errors.

Since Wednesday I have been able to briefly get on twice and then I got straight in with no queue. Every other time I get 2002 error except a couple of times when I could click start, got the error that it can't updated the JP server list and then when I try to login to Ragnarok it crashes with 90000.

Prior to Wednesday I had no problems at all and I still have perfect connectivity to everything else. The reason I think the problem is related to the servers being full is that today I could actually play for several hours before I got 90000 error. Of course, 9-12 AM CET (3-6 AM ET) is hardly peak hours for the servers.

SEs support was useless and claims it is all my problem which I don't buy for a second after 3 years of playing fine and having excellent connectivity.

Any advice would be welcome otherwise I have to wait a little while longer and hope it gets better when people have to pay or just stop playing since I will not pay a sub for a game that I can only play 3 hours on weekday mornings.

Advice? Play in moderation. I've logged on every day since re-launch, and my main character class still isn't even level 35 yet. Judging by your sig, it looks like you've had lots of time to play.

Well it doesn't help that the 30 minute timeout doesn't work if you are talking to an NPC. People can still stay logged in indefinitely when they're away and SE need to sort this out. On the Phoenix server however the login problem has been much better for the last couple of weeks, I've had to queue a few times, but I've always got in within a few minutes even at weekends. Unfortunately SE support is far less than great, I'm yet to see a single reply from any SE representative to anyone here which is terrible, even sending them support tickets seems pretty hopeless, the best you seem to get is an automated response. Maybe a snail mail complaint may be more effective?

That's not the point, as a paying member you should be-able to play when you want to for as long as you want to around 98% of the time, it's not like FF XIV ARR is free to play, yet I've known some FTP services be better (okay, it can't be 100% as maintenance is required). Would you be happy if you could only watch a subscription TV service at off peak times or were told to watch it in moderation? Obviously not.

Honestly, this is what I tried to use today because based on experience I knew I would never get back in if I logged out. The 90000 error quickly took care of that though.

I"m having the same issue. There may be something to your prime time idea. I haven't been able to log on for days (since, yeah, about Wendesday). It lets me in, I take 10 steps, and then I get disconnected. However, last night at 1AM, I logged in and played just fine.

I am getting really, really frustrated. Out of my four week free trial, like 3 weeks of that I COULDNT CONNECT TO THE DAMN GAME. I love the game, when I can play it, but all of this crap is just ridiculous. I seriously have never seen service this bad in a game. Ever.

Oh, I've seen terrible service. SE just seems like they can't figure out what the hell is going on at the moment. I'm sure they're trying... I hate to be an ass-kisser, but that's just me giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Deep down, I'm super pissed off and I wanna plaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay T_T

Oh, and I'm just bumping this along with other error threads to show SE that they gotta do something! Any advice would be nice. Even a dev post acknowledging that there MAY be an issue on their end would be awesome! I would at least like to know if its worth waiting for a fix... and I suppose I can try logging in at a non-peak time to play. But I've tried logging in at 1AM before, but it didn't make a difference.
Maybe I'll try making a character on a EU server and that might be better? Sucks, though. I'd like to play with my buddies

It's just weird. It's like some of us are just not liked by the servers and kicked as soon as they get full and not even able to get into the queue.

Me either. I cancelled my renewal today. I guess that gives SE about 2 weeks to fix things. I wonder when everyone has to start to pay subscription. I guess I should wait and try to login until that happens

I'm on an EU server. If you're having the same problem, I doubt it will help. Besides, if you have the same problem as me it won't help. I get 2002 so I can't even pick the "Start" option and choose a character.

Unfortunatly it seems I too have encountered the same problem, or something similar.
My friend have been locked out from her character for 3 weeks despite all efforts and it seems I will be too.
Cancelled my renewal as well, not as a protest really but I do not have the time or will to level 5 classes/jobs to max and gearing them up.
Unless we can resume gameplay on our prefered characters, this is it for us. Too bad really because besides the horrible management and support the game is highly enjoyable.
