I know it's not much but let's say you're a miner like me, i get about 2 stacks of gold ore a day, not counting that i'm farming cobalt when the gold isn't spawned.
That's about 150k just on gold and i make about 300k on cobalt a day, and no i'm not online all day so just in one day you could make enough for a long time.

The OP has a point, to a degree, and even if he may not be exploiting all of his avenues to get gil.

Someone who simply doesn't like crafting or gathering, and wants to focus on activities as a DoW/DoM, should be able to do so and not go completely broke. In other words, they should be able to make enough gil to cover repairs and basic consumables and have a small bit left over. Their funds should be trending positive over time, albeit at a very slow rate. In my opinion, a casual player who only is interested in combat should be able to functionally enjoy the game their way, as long as they avoid luxury/vanity gilsinks.

Players who invest a lot of time into DoH/DoL, on the other hand, should be making money at a significantly faster rate than those who don't. This isn't up for debate.

And I agree, but there are ways for battle classes to get the gil they need, many of which are covered in this thread.

    This has never been true.
    For anything.
    Ever.
