    90K Leads to Entire Home Network Crashing

    I keep getting lag spikes followed quickly by 90K error. However, in addition, this causes the internet all over the house to go out. Restarting everything seems to fix it, if only for a few moments. Once I open the game, the network goes down again.

    ISP: Comcast [Cable Internet] (Texas)
    Router: ASUS RT-N53
    Modem: Motorala SB6121

    I have not seen this [whole network crashing] on other 90K threads, was wanting to know if this was a different problem.

    noticing something very similar as well. happened probably 5-6 times today.

    90000 error and boom - internets are toast.

    What the hell could possibly be the explanation behind this?

    Also Comcast in NoCal btw!

    I'm curious what routers people who have this issue are using. I noticed that OP is using RT series Asus router, and I am also on an Asus RT-N66U
    Could it be an issue with the router's interaction with the game?

    Could it be an issue with the router's interaction with the game?
    Are you all running the same firmware version on the router? Or using Tomato?

    When I had a WRT-54g, there was one specific condition that would cause this effect, and it was when multicast traffic effectively overloaded it. The Multicast traffic was from the ISP's Television-over-IP service. The WRT-54G was also running Tomato at the time. But this was at least 5 years ago.

    One computer is ethernet chord, the other is over the WiFi. Both lose internet along with phone WiFi.

    The firmware version I am running is 3.0.0.4.264, which is the latest version.

    The common theme here seems to be Comcast, but there is no decisive way to conclude that. I think a phone call to them is in order at the very least now.

    Every time I play Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn [PC Version] my router connection to the internet goes down, I can use the internet or play other online games without any problems.

    Note: I don't remember having this issue before the first patch last week, and today's patch didn't fix the problem. Maybe because it hasn't been addressed.

    Router HUAWEI HG532
    Speed 8Mbps
