I'll admit the story feels a little drawn out but it's pretty damned cool in some instances what SE sneaks in. Here's one example:
In this one I joked constantly about how we "stuck corpses in our bags" whenever the main quest told us to carry one. Little did I know they referenced it...
In a second example and I don't have screenshot of it, a Priest mentions a tale passed around after the Calamity called the great goobbue wall of Ul'dah. In version 1.0 nearing the end of the game's service players all around on each server created a great wall of goobbue mounts around the entrances to Ul'dah. It seemed like a silly thing but never did I expect them to reference it in the storyline.
Dev team, I take my hat off to you. These might be small things but it's stuff like this that truly impresses me about the work you've done!
