Gladiator vs Crusader

This isn't which is better. Nor is it which has higher dps or tanks better.

I just want to know. Which one do you have more fun playing?

I took Gladiator to 30 and I had a blast doing it. Then I moved to Crusader. I dunno why but even though it dishes out decent damage and can take hits.. I found it massively boring to level. I've been working with it for 3 days and it's only level 21, took me that long to hit 30 on the Gladiator.

Uh, Crusader? From what I'm aware there is no such class in XIV by that name. Do you mean Paladin (PLD) by any chance?

In which case PLD is vastly superior to GLA - GLA is classed as a tank, and PLD expands on that considerably. And I disagree it's boring to level - it can withstand a considerable amount of abuse and has some effective Job abilities (Spirits Within is especially fun even when soloing, although it's most effective when used at full HP). I guess a tank class/Job just isn't the right one for you sadly if you're finding it boring.

Marauder is ok, I had fun leveling it to 50. But if you want to be considered easily for Bahamut's Coil you should level Paladin (Gladiator -> Paladin), not Warrior. Warrior's have more HP but paladins have more Mitigation/Buffs than Warrior and the mitigation is so much more that it trumps warriors extra HP.

I'm not saying you can't do the content as a Warrior, I'm saying that they are not FOTM (Flavor of the month) and people will flat out reject you on some content if they have a paladin handy. A group is more likely to take a paladin in Hoplite armor than a warrior in Full Dark Light.

It's more of the way the plaeyr base is opinionated itself atm. And it's not entirely fictitious. Using a Paladin to tank, or 2, saves mana because they take less dmg. Warriors soak more up, but have to be healed a lot more too.

So to answer your question, any amount of fun I have on warrior is made irrelevant when someone says "O.o your a war, sorry, but no thanks, we need a paladin for Ifrit HM, or Titan HM, etc"

I find that playing a warrior I have to prove my worth. I have to prove to people that my skill as a tank and at playing a warrior makes up for me not being a paladin, where as a paladin is just like "invitez me", they get the invite, and they press 1, 2, 3 the entire encounter.

Owch. Well I plan to level my Paladin not for end game content but just for fun. I dont' have the reflexes to dodge and tank the end game battles.

Crusader is a forum-exclusive class. They are proficient at defense and get a bonus to blocking versus logic.

Nicknamed "White Knights", they are undoubtedly the best tanking class in FFXIV.
