The character limit for the chat box in /say and /em needs to be increased and/or needs to have the actual visible limit match up with the cutoff i.e. it prevents you from entering any more text when the chat buffer is full for that post without just eating your entire post and printing out a post that only you can see but no one else can.

Currently you can type whatever you want into the chat box but the 'physical' chat limiter is far longer than the actual limit put on text posts in game. If you exceed this 'invisible limiter' in the chat box it will gobble up your entire post and post nothing to anyone else but you will see on your screen the text printing out as if nothing is wrong, just no one else will be able to see you. This is kind of a huge oversight. The physical limit needs to be THE limit. The invisible limit needs to go.

edit: so the 'testing' I did shows that the "Hard Limit" (where it prevents you from typing anymore) is 500 characters (including spaces). However the 'real limit' (where it prevents others from seeing your posts at all and yet still prints it up on your own screen is roughly around 400 characters. Though to be honest I couldn't pinpoint a number since it would vary with every addition or subtraction of characters.

This kind of really screams of a massive bug with the chat system. I do know that there's probably some more pressing issues but this is the Quality of Life thread and having my chat posts gobbled up where no one else can read them and leaving me wondering if they went through every time is really frustrating.
