    How to fix the lvl 1-50 grind for 2nd+ time through

    The main storyline is decent by my opinion, enough to get a good review and get players hooked. But like many of you agree the 1-50 grind with the FATEs and such really needs to be fixed.

    So ya SQ is going to fix FATEs, great, here's what they also really need: (Sorry I meant Dungeons are being re-balanced versus FATEs, which are staying the same, but dungeons will have more incentives such as bonus gil)

    1. Add end-game quests to get really good lower level gear

    2. Add optional dungeons every 10 levels or so from 1-50 that require said gear to be grindable, or extremely difficult without it (for first-time players who want a challenge) - the exp/gil drops from these should be good enough that you'd want to both get the gear and use it for leveling for a few levels every 10 levels

    This would bring back the awesome feeling we had when we started a new job and had good gear ready (lizzy boots, rings, emperor hairpin, etc) - the 3rd or 4th job is boring, 50% exp isn't enough, just let us grind something moderately challenging please.

    They already have some optional dungeons strewn about, make a hard version

    Honestly? Why would I bother with dungeons as a DD, standing around all day when I could just do FATEs non stop with no long waits? I can just gear up with GC gear and move on to the next FATE area. I don't really see this as a solution.

    The only official saying I can find about Fates is that the Dev Team sees no problem with people using them to go from 1-50,

    Due to character limits I will just summarize the answer which you can read yourself, they are making leveling/repetitive dungeons drop more gil so they will be more attractive, right now FATEs are clearly the easier way to grind. He doesn't want to drop gil in FATEs due to the farming nature. "We are talking about at least adding some more bonus for instance based contents." So to correct my technically, they aren't fixing FATEs they are balancing FATEs and Dungeons, which is kind of an indirect fix. I personally hate mind numbing FATE grinding so I will definitely choose a dungeon if the reward is balanced. It's personal enjoyment, if the gil is enough to make my extra effort and maybe less exp gain worth it, I will be persuaded.

    I could see duo dungeons working but adding more dungeons in normal to larger party numbers could easily hurt the queue of all dungeons for leveling, they could add leve chains or something (sort of like a long FATE quest but for parties/duos) things like this i think would work. Also adding more exp to the main story dungeons that you can use for leveling would work too.

    Really good gear for lower classes drops in dungeons, just collect that :P (or if you were lucky to get them from 1.0 NMs which imo easier and more fun way lol)

    That's what I want! I'm happy about that! When I q as a WHM and I wait 20 mins for DD something is wrong lol

    I made a suggestion on the forums, but it was ignored as usual.

    -Let the experience bonus for doing a guildhest for the first time apply to all characters, not just the first to run it.
    -Provide double experience for the first dungeon, guildhest, and trial done that day.
    -Provide players with their choice of gold or seals at the end of dungeons to incentive running them more.
    -Random dungeon/guildhest option. When selected, it provides 25% more experience. At the end of the dungeon, it will ask you if you want to run another random dungeon/guildhest with that group.
    -Have grand companies sell an item you can purchase with seals once a week that resets your current Gathering/Hunting/Crafting log tier for all classes

    Even with this dungeon gil balance, FATEs will always be an option, if you want to button-bash your way to 50 by all means. I'm saying they should consider for adding even more increased incentive to level through specialized hard lower-level dungeons rather than FATEs. The trade-off is that for these dungeons you actually need to pay attention, which I prefer and I'm sure many of you may like this option too, especially if the exp/gil gain is worth it.

    They are also adding bulletin boards to find parties, so good DDs should have a better time than they have been in Duty Finder.

    They are adding some sort of random dungeon bonus, you can queue for this once a day and they put you into a dungeon with high wait times and you get an extra bonus, probably only applies to tanks/healers.
