Limited time items

Hey all I was wondering is there currently anything in game that will only be available for a limited time or a limited event.

As I am one of those sad completionists and would really hate the fact I missed the chance to get something that is no longer in game.

The Moonfire Faire is currently going on as a "holiday" event. There is no end date right now due to the server issues this month, but it will end at some point. The items available are swimsuits and fireworks. There is also an achievement for buying a swimsuit.

That's the only limited time thing I know of for now.

Sorry to be a pain I followed the link and it shows the different places you can find the Moonfire Faire chaperones are these vendors or do I have to do some sort of quest/s to obtain these limited items.

I also read some where that there is or will be a limited time FATE that will include lightening from FFXIII do you know if this is currently in game or still yet to come?

The NPCs will somewhat explain, but this event is really just 1 FATE. You go out anywhere and look for the FATE "Return of the King". It starts at level 5, and there are versions every 5 levels it seems. The FATE is pretty easy, you just defeat small bombs while some friendly NPCs hit a boss bomb. You have to keep the friendlies alive long enough for them to fill the progress bar.

Anyway, completing the FATE will give you 30 Wet Bomb Ash which is the currency for the event. The vendors in town will sell the swimsuit and fireworks for these (and 1-2 FATEs are enough to buy everything).

Sorry, I don't know about any future events. There isn't anything currently that deals with lightning though.

I have seen them FATEs and even got those items but never knew what they where for so been vendoring em :@ lol will make sure I get more and not sell to vendor next time hehe.

Wet Bomb Ash is tradable on the Auction House and can be had quite cheaply, if you don't feel like going out and chasing the FATEs.

P.S. Vendoring stuff should always be your last choice; vendor prices are abysmal. Now that you're level 17, you should have done your main storyline quests up to the point where you have retainers. Now you can sell stuff on the AH to other players and usually get a much better price.

Lightning Event is Nov 14 (It will have 1 male outfit, 1 female outfit, 1 weapon of each type). Then theres also the Shantotto Minion event (no date yet)

Thanks for the advice I may check the AH for some but I am yet to see it in game lol.

I may be level 17 but not that far in story just got to the first dungeon quest for Limsa Lominsa so think I have a few more quests to get retainer yeah I have noticed the vendor prices are abysmal but had no where else to put it and as it was called ash I thought it was useless lol.
