Of course, buy gil from the site, put an allagan anything piece for a retarded price and your gill seller buys it from you. It doesn't even have to be only allagan coins. Unless SE makes every single item unsellable on he market, they can do it with anything you can pick up off of the vendor. something as simple as copper ore can be used to exchange gil this way. Allagan coins are probably used because no right minded person would bother searching for those to buy, as they are just vendor trash.

Gotta question why SE bothered making vendor trash like these coins drop or get rewarded from quests instead of just straight gil in the first place. All they did was give these people something to work with.

I have been selling those pieces for outrageous amounts to people with too much money. i believe some people are at the gil cap and want the pieces to invest in.
think before you go on witch hunts. Last night i made 500k+ on allagan pieces that are face valued at maybe 30k. hell i have allot of them up for sale right now for another 500k+ and will continue to do so until people stop investing in them. I think some people also just like to show off how rich they are by buying them imo.

Yes i decided to come on the forums and admit to buying Gil, because you know im really smart like that... /sarcasm.

Now the smart thing i did was read on the forums about people paying outrageous prices for allagan pieces and decided to get in on it... also i sold my gold piece for 250k and not 500k.
but i am wondering of someone didn't notice that extra 0 on the end, because that truly is a stupid amount of money for the thing.

I'm confirming it for the Midgardsormr server as well just checked Silver pieces and Ez Pay was buying them up. This is something that needs to be passed along to the STF because they are using this method to keep their gil on hand down.
