Can't make Threads outside of this Area

So I can't make threads outside of this area of the forum, and I have a lot of questions. I was told it was because my level wasn't high enough in the game, but I'm level 28! Anyone of you guys capable of telling me what's needed?

I have a lot of questions about this game and as I'm new to MMO's in general I'm really enjoying it but playing in duties I'm constantly getting cursed at for not playing the 'right' way. No one though wants to take the time to tell me what I'm doing is wrong. I only just found out what pulling to early means, and that was after someone spent the better part of 10 minutes lighting up my chat box going off on me.

At level 28, you can only make one thread per day. Have you made one already?

No. And just to make sure I haven't done any drunk posting, I went and checked my previous posts, and the first one in here and two others about 3 weeks ago are all I have made. This was the first thread I have ever created.

Sometimes it takes a day or two for their wanky forums to catch up to the actual game.

War is Hell, and Life becomes a Sin, when young men must fight the wars, that older men begin.

Thanks. And I see you are also an archer. Would it be ok if I asked you some questions here then? Cause honestly I'm loving this game for storyline alone and main quests, but when it comes to actually getting into a duty and doing a dungeon, I'm hopelessly lost. My girlfriend plays as a healer, and her job is pretty easy, just point on whoever is in trouble and heal them, or crank out all the protection spells. Me on the other hand, people get mad at me and no one seems to bother wanting to explain what I'm doing wrong. I've only died once in an entire dungeon, and I make a lot of kills, but it doesnt stop the tank normally from cursing me out for no end.

You are just being grouped in with jerks.

That, or you are pissing them off and keep taking aggro off the tank, but I don't want to assume you do that.

Are you asking a run down on the entire dungeon or just the boss's?

I must have been lucky so far, no one cursed at me yet. Even though I was the cause for a wipe once. I usually ask if there is anything special in the dungeon and let them know that this is my first run at it. Sometimes I even skip the cut scene.
May be good to Google the particular dungeon too just to have an idea what's in there and what to actually kill, although I haven't done that myself yet.
As a rule of thumb I keep in mind to kill everything around the hard to kill boss and let the tank keep the aggro on it. Once nothing spawns any more, let loose on it and kite lots.

As a damage dealer you want to focus on the target that your tank marks or focuses on. This is situational of course. If you have a mob that peels off the tank and is running towards your healer, it wouldn't be a bad idea to throw a shadowbind at it.

Anyway, there's a few ways to determine what you should be attacking:

    - Tank marks 1st priority target with a symbol
    - If tank doesn't mark, usually the first mob he pulls will be the main target.
    - For multiple mob packs (3 or more) and your tank doesn't mark, since you're playing archer it would be worthwhile to move in and do your Quick Nock ability once so that you can hit all of the mobs and they display in your HUD under the enemy party widget. That way you can see which mobs are constantly losing HP and that should be your focus target.
    - There's also an /assist command you can use when targeting your tank (can make a macro for it) to see which mob the tank is currently attacking.

This game functions a little differently from other MMOs, as back in the day you'd usually have a designated puller who'd bring back a monster to the group. Since tanks have ranged attacks it just makes more sense for them to pull, especially since their ranged abilities have enmity built into them.

In a nutshell, try to follow your tank's targets and you shouldn't have too many issues. Watch the threat meter through the enemy party widget which is color coded (green, yellow, orange, flashing orange, red in order from lowest to highest threat) and watch the numbers on the ally party list as those indicate which position in threat you are for the currently targeted monster. Managing threat as a damage dealer is important. Once you can do that you should have a more enjoyable experience.
