    Ridiculous beastmen behaviour

    Have you ever been in a beastman camp or fireplace and seen two of them talking? Have you ever attacked one of them out of sight of the other and when it comes to attack you the other one just carries on the conversation?

    Mob aggro behaviour is just ridiculous at times, I mean when they're just sitting around next to each other I'm willing to accept that maybe they're just so oblivious that they didn't notice their friend get hit in the head by a shield/axe/spear/spell. But when they are in mid conversation and one of them walks off to do battle, I refuse to believe the other wouldn't notice that...

    I dunno maybe I'm being stupid but it bugs me. So all I'm suggesting is maybe make beastmen/bandits link with other beastmen/bandits, but only when they are looking at the mob that gets attacked.

    In very early V1.0 monsters were pretty intelligent, certain aggressive monsters would attack other monsters, groups of monsters would attack people. It was much more like a real ecosystem. People complained that their behaviour was too confusing and they were nerfed to just stand around doing nothing but waiting to die.

    Yeah I think we need to start a petition thread to bring back at least tiny amount of the awesome AI they had in 1.0. This is just ridiculous. There's no reason to 'fear' mobs anymore, so why are beastmen and Imperials viewed as such a threat in the story? A single lvl 50 can pretty much solo tank an entire Imperial outpost. SE y.....

    Back when I played dark age of camelot we called this "BAF" or the "bring a friend" mechanic. Almost any mob you pulled if it ran by another mob would bring it with them. Now granted almost all dungeons in that game were out in the open world so it was a bit different. But it made pulling strategic. It also made it make more sense. But yes I do think it's funny sometimes to see two mobs talking, I pull one and his buddy just sits there like "ya bob I know.. bob...hey where'd bob go? eh fk it".

    Yup, all enemies should have a close range proximity detection that will aggro regardless if you are in their field of vision or not. Additionally they should link to anything that they are friendly to that aggros and is in this close range proximity detection. It makes sense that enemies are going to react to you if you invade their personal space regardless if they can see you or not.

    The problem you mention as well as the issue in CM and other places where you can run behind a guard and pretty much tap them on the shoulder without them reacting is dumb.

    I also wondered why FFXI, a game more than a decade old, had a more alive feeling world with enemies with actual AI that chased you forever and patrolled ALL over zones(hi goblin diggers) or had HUGE patrol paths(all beastmen basically). Yet, in this new 2013 high-tech next-gen MMO we have enemies that just sit there afk doing nothing waiting to die. Pretty cool.

    That must be a damn joke :/ It is really said how downhill it went then, if that behaviour is confusing, then something is wrong with those people finding it confusing.

    I'm all in for bringing better AI to the game.

    What I find most puzzling is that in the central shroud there are a ton of mobs, just outside a starting city, that have joined agro. You can just walk around and see the agro lines between them. But oddly, as you get further and further from the start of the game you see this less and less. Generally the argument against linking mobs is that it makes life harder for newbies and the solo minded players. Yet here we have the exact opposite mind set. Even if they don't bring back the intelligence of the ai, it would be nice to see more linked enemies.

    Just don't bring back the hordes of enemies that would mindlessly follow you just WAITING for you to hit an AoE spell so you can be mobbed to death. XD
