Is the duty finder broken?

I need to do Hauke Manor for main storyline.
Bud i can't find anybody to do it with me, i am waiting for 2 hours all ready.
Is there a work around so i can progress with my main story?

an hourI got into manor after only 10 min wait ! ..the tank did not know what he was doing and ran around and killed us twice then left. since then ( an hour later ) ..still waiting for new party... sob.

The Duty Finder will probably take longer now because it is early morning (in North America) and because there was just maintenance. You will probably have more luck with that later in the day. Unfortunately there is no work around for those that I know of. Haukke Manor was fun though, it has been my favourite dungeon so far.

HM is one of the dungeons no-on repeats (or hardly anyone does)...
queue times for that dungeon are way longer than others.

Hope that i don't gonna have the same problems with my next group quest.
Because i am a little bit afraid that i wil run in the same problems in the future.
And thats a little bit said, because i really like this game.

Queue times a DPS for main storyline dungeons is one of the worst problems in FFXIV right now. Nothing discourages players more than having to wait for their main storyline progression, especially early when you are trying to get to the mount phase.

I'd recommend searching for a linkshell or free company that can assist you out with that kind of stuff. (And don't forget to assist them in return!)

You can also try /shouting for help. At least on my server it's not unusual for people to find at least one party member that way, which can reduce the wait time for the duty finder significantly. If you don't like that either, you'll just have to be patient - you'll always find a party sooner or later and there's enough stuff in the game to keep you busy while waiting.

/sh for help, and if you manage to get a healer or tank to join you, you should get in real fast.

your next dungeon is brayflox longstop. i highly recommend finding a FC/LS tank friend to do it with you. not only does it speed things up, it is a rather demanding dungeon for most new tanks, and if it is the first time a tank is doing it, and s/he did not do any research prior, it is likely that s/he will fail it.

Being a new player this type of situation is annoying.

Spent one whole game day just getting the first 3 dungeons done because it is required to move on in story quest. All runs where easy and smooth it was the 45- 1 1/2 hour waits that killed the day.

Reading this and knowing will have to do again is not something people look forward to.

I understand why they tied it to the story lines.

Still it is very disheartening to some. I played enough MMO's to know that it comes with the game there will always be some bad with the good. Just newbies especially to MMO's are going to get disheartened and move on if it is this bad.

Quick question is the que server based or is it crosserver. If it is server based then yeah they need to fix this, because in future when game isn't so new there will be no way to complete story line without huge que times. I hope they have crosserver plans in future if it isn't already.
