take the weekend off and do stuff with your family. You know you didn't do anything wrong so come tuesday your account will probably be released and you will continue to make insane amounts of money for no reason whatsoever.
So now the bots and RMTs are gonna cap at 9,999,999 gil.
If you think everyone with over a million gil is somehow abusing the system you have an incredibly narrow-minded view. I move millions of gil worth of product on the market boards daily and I buy or farm all of my own materials.I'm guessing it may be targeting people with over 1,000,000 gil.
Most of these people are either Win sellers, who sell a win run for 500K and higher, and chest farmers, who have abused the current system to gather High value mats people pay high amount of gil for by joining groups and making people who want to run the dungeon leave so they can continue to harass another goup they will join to continue their chest farming.
Not to mention, those "win sellers" are completely legal. There's nothing in the ToS against selling a run to someone. What harm does it do that those with plenty of gil can pay a group of players to run them through something? They can sell their sword just like I can sell my hammer.
This is not even a lot of gil, such a cap would be ridiculous. There are items that sell for 1/5th of that cost on their own.
If it happened to me, I would also be rather angry. That aside, it's also a piss-poor business and PR decision. Nothing pisses off your customers faster than barring them from services they paid for while accusing them of being cheaters based quite literally on nothing.
Imagine your ISP mass-banning every customer who exceed an arbitrary (and low) amount of bandwidth, and accuses every one of them of illegally downloading/distributing copy ghted material.
I'm quite sure your reaction won't be "lol, just relax man".
hope this problem gets solved. Glad I only have 100K gil, but whatever... this is more than bad.

Eh? I think most of you misunderstood me. I meant the people who got banned. SE have tools to track money transactions.
I don't believe they'll ban many innocents (can happen, but it's very unlikely), and I don't believe they ban someone who has a lot of money just because he has a lot of money.
half of my FC got banned for having too much gil. We happened to be the first FC that could craft HQ crafter gear and managed to make a large amount of money off it. At least one of the members got banned for selling lots of jewelry. The fact that they are banning based on amount of gil is a huge issue
They do? hell no, they just banned every millionaire, just like that.Eh? I think most of you misunderstood me. I meant the people who got banned. SE have tools to track money transactions.

I would like to make several points,
First on the claim that people are being banned only for large amounts of gil. I want to call propaganda on that. I've seen multiple spammers disappear off of my black list in the past couple of days. I think the hammer is coming down and the gil sellers are getting nervous. If I were them the first thing I would do is make SE's efforts out to be a clusterf***, get the community up in arms and out for blood, and tie the company's hands.
Second, if your account is on hold then there must be a reason. You ended up in the RMT food chain somewhere and SE is trying to figure out how and why. Be patient. Unless you are obviously guilty, the worst that can happen is you lose a couple days. It's worth it in the long run.
Finally, we all asked for this over and over. Now that something is being done, we turn into a bunch of children. Stick it out and let this get sorted out before we bust out the nails and the cross. RMT HAS to stop.
