MM I've been suspended as well. Never botted, bought or sold gil. Pretty angry right now.
I've sold 30-40 pieces of Star 2 items. Even when my account gets restored I'm going to be pissed still.
Have a great weekend.(For those that can play)

So they're only banning players with a lot of gil? Nothing to worry about here then....
*cries softly in a corner*
To the people saying they have been SUSPENDED, not banned, for possible links to RMT, this doesn't mean that you yourself bought/sold gil etc. It just means that somewhere along the line, you sold/bought items, knowingly or unknowingly, form someone who either bought gil, bought crystals from someone who bought them for $, or something along those lines.
It's crappy that you've been suspended, but look at it in a real world scenario. You buy a TV either from a pawn/second hand shop, or from a newspaper advertisment, only to have the police track it down through sales records after having found out it was stolen, and question you over recieving stolen goods, and taking said TV from you with no compensation. It's similar to that, even though you unknowingly participated in RMT by selling to someone who bought gil, they still have too investigate your account as part of the RMT web.

This is a pretty stupid comment. So your saying that for anyone who legitimately sells items in the Market Place and has had their items bought out buy a unknowingly by Gil seller its ok for their account to be suspended? If that's the case, no one is a safe using the market board. Or another scenario, I have a expensive item sell in the Market Place and I contact the buyer(Name listed in Retainer transactions) and ask if they would like me to craft them anything else. They agree, I craft the item and we do a direct trade.
Doing a global ban hammer on people over certain Gil limits is ridiculous.

Did i say its a good thing, or that i agree with it? In an ideal world people who didnt knowingly participate in RMT wouldn't get caught in the net, but when RMT characters use the same methods to transfer gil/crystals etc as those who legitimatly use the marketplace, people get caught in the net. So please, tell me how you would tell the difference between the two going simply by logs of items sold/bought on the marketplace. When it comes to RMT as widespread as it's getting, people will get caught in the net even though they did nothing wrong. I agree it does suck for the innocent players, but what else can SE do but play it carefuly and double check everything?

I've got a lot of gil, nothing so far, but I'm also not botting or doing anything wrong. Just playing the game and saving my gils for a house.![]()

It seems from initial reports that the magic numbers are
- >8m for August non-legacy servers
- >2m for servers released September 12th or Sepember 4th.
Wow. Just wow... I feel horrible for the people that legitimately acquired their gil. I mean this has to hit REALLY hard on the people that truly enjoy this game and enjoyed making the 10m+ they have. I know theres tons of people that are going to "say" yea i obtained all my gil without the use of RMT, and im sure a lot of them are gonna be liars but im absolutely sure there are plenty of you out there that did earn it the right way and are upset about it. I know i would be hotter then a skillet with SE had i obtained 10m only to be banned for taking advantage of a new market economy. My deepest regards go out to the folks that got banned that didn't server it.
Now... This is going to contradict myself but honestly I am surprised at SE for taking such aggressive action to handle this problem. I mean look at it this way, everyone got banned for 72 hours. Hopefully they are able to clearly decipher who bought gold for real money and who didn't. If they do, and they perma ban the ones that did. Imagine how much gil thats going to take out of the economy. It would definitely make everyone elses gil worth more. Sellers would have to drop prices to sell things most likely but i think it will balance out for the better in hopefully a short amount of time.
Just try for a minute to look at both perspectives. Again that sucks royally for the "good guys" that got banned but try try try to look at it in a positive light.
