Issues with Chest farmers

Currently now I have just ran into a Chest farmer in Wanderer's Palace and this person has full DL, relic weapon, and have access to Binding Coil due to his Allagan Shield being proof.

I will not display his name but I can see this being a serious Harassment issue if more people start to support this kind of abuse.

This issue is that the chest farmer will run to open all chest before the first boss of the dungeon and refuse to leave until one of the group leaves so he or she will not deal with the 15 minute wait time so he or she can continue Farming Craft items from Wanderer's Palace by opening only the first bunch of chest before the first boss.


The person will continue this harassment on every group he or she joins until banned or restricted from joining dungeons.

( I already reported him or her but this issue I can see becoming a major one if people continue to support this kind of activity because it basically harasses people who are joining the dungeon run for the purpose of completing the dungeon. There are also constantly new players joining the game and place like Wanderer's palace is a place where they will go to start building for AK run and gather some tomes for their DL.)

You're not the only one to run into this issue. We've run into a couple of these on Adamantoise as well. The only solution I can offer is to not give in to their "demands" and just wait out the time. Its a lose-lose but its on them to get the drop penalty.

If they're concerned about the 15 minute lock out, just wait them out. They'll get antsy and hopefully leave, and you can replace them in the party.

It's unfortunate that people choose to act this way, but the best thing to do is not give in to their demands of leaving, or get upset.

Well that won't help when they're willing to wait out 30 minutes and longer. By the time they leave at that point there is not enough time to finish the dungeon.

Therein lies the lose-lose situation. But hopefully if its an antsy person they'll drop earlier.

but it still won't stop the issue because from what I've seen most of these chest farmers are people already up in Coil and they're doing this to get the gil for paying their own bills in endgame.

These chest farming is already holding potential skill endgame players back from entering endgame through means of blocking player from gathering the gear needed for AK.

Ya they can say farm Castrum for DL but that is their mentality they have because they spent their time farming Castrum for their DL set before entering AK and Primal HM.

If 15 minutes is so important to them that they want to force someone else to drop first so they won't get lock out, why would they stay 30 minutes? I know we can't expect these players to be logical, reasonable people, but if they're antsy about 15, they hopefully won't stick around.

This person has Full DL set, Relic, and Allagan shield. Not only that this person is at current endgame with everything a endgame person can dream of having.

I don't know what is going on in his or her head but having all the best gears and stuff in the game must have gone to his or her head enough to make him or her wait out that long since there is no place to go with all current endgame burned through already for him or her.

I havent done much dungeons in 2.0 but cant you just try to out lot them. (The dungeons i have done, most people just ninja lot at last seconds anyways).
