Let me join, pretty pleaseeee?
on ultros there is a whole guild who job is to ruin that FATE for everyone. Thats all they do is ruin the FATE. Its pretty funny actually
I thinkg thats rather sad Actually. On Hyperino there was this one guy doing the same, Lvl 50 full DL killing lambs soon as they spawned. Guy must have wsted at least five hours doing this just to spite others.
From now on I'll eventually go to that FATE when I'm bored just to kill the lambs and leave.
Gotta make those lazy automatons who can just brainlessly spam AOEs rage.

Yes, you have the right to kill the lambs and end it early if you want. Of course you can, it is (as some people are so keen to keep reminding us) how the FATE was intended to be won.
But honestly, is it worth it? You know you're going to annoy dozens of people, and all for the sake of saving 10-15 minutes? Is it really worth the acrimony?
Of course, if you decide it IS worth the acrimony, nothing anyone says here is going to change your mind. People are gonna do what they're gonna do.

No different than the people crying like children that they don't get an easy 100K exp for standing in one spot killing the same mobs over and over.
I'm more sad that the devs haven't done something to FATEs like that. As I said, from a design perspective that literally screams "not intended". My gut's telling me the whole "we don't think this is an exploit" thing is the devs not wanting to piss off the people who use it as their source of exp. Which doesn't really make sense unless they're seeing the majority of the players in-game use that as a means of filling the 44-50 gap in leveling content.
That would actually be a clever solution. They will never know who is killing the lambs. It's funny, i've seen people rage when a stray aggro pulls one into the aoe fest, and they just assume it's someone killing them, even though no one is even doing it. I would laugh really hard if Square secretly patched in some lambs being linked to the ones aoed, so you pull them, you pull lambs.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
