    Do you search for negativity?

So the past couple of MMOs I've played I've found myself doing this and it really bothers me. Right now I am in love with the game and am having a blast leveling and crafting.
But I find myself going to the forums looking for negative threads to see what people are sayng about the game because I like to know peoples current gripes.

Well the problem is I read these threads about how it's a WoW clone, endgame is a grind, ect. All these issues people seem to have yet I don't have an issue with. Reading these threads makes me nervous about putting a lot of time into whatever game I am playing because it makes me fear the longevity of the game. I am saying right now I am not saying anything negative about the game, this is a personal gripe I am having about reading too much negativity.

I mean the obvious answer is well just ignore the negativity and have fun!
But well when I'm at work (work for the state so..I don't really work) I get bored and read the forums and and can't help but read negative threads.

Does anyone else have this issue? I wish I could block out negativity but it's hard

I've found as long as I just focus on what personally makes me happy nothing else matters outside of that. People will say things and spread negatives no matter what you do, it doesn't have to impact you though if you don't let it get to you.

If you also surround yourself with as many positive and like minded individuals around you, it will most likely make for a much easier time to stay positive and enjoy yourself.

So don't let the negatives get to you, there simply isn't enough hours in the day to justify spending them feeling down about something that someone says.

NO I do not look for negativity. I do look for potential issues that I should keep an eye out for.

You only see lots of negative becaue all the happy people are actually in game playing as opposed to being on the forums crying. I'd also be willing to bet that the happy players out number the unhappy players by a large margin. Don't worry about what others are saying, play through the game and form your own opinion. If I went off what people said on forums or reviews I'd never by another game again.

Blame 8 years of EVE Online.

I learned to keep my pie hole shut if I like something, lest it be nerfed in to the ground.

If you want negativity all you only need to look at any gaming forum, since that is where most congregate. Though I never judge a game based on what I see, since everyone is out for something different. All I can say is, don't judge yourself for playing a game someone else doesn't like. Play it and invest time in it if it is fun for you, since that is what games are all about really and the Final Fantasy series in particular has its own fair share of what people think is best and worst. Just ask the general populace here what is the best Final Fantasy, and you are bound to get a dozen opinions. But that is what they are, opinions.

But as to being attracted to negativity. Just blame it on the regular news :P They only look for negativity in the world too, since for some reason that is what most people are interested in.

I also tend to read forums at work... much to my chagrin. And of course you can't help but read the negative stuff people post because it's about the only thing that is ever at the top of general discussion. However, I shake my head at all the BS people post and whine about and sometimes wish I could reach through the internet to punch them in the face. I like this game. I like how it works. Is it perfect? Of course not but no one seems to keep up on the information the devs and community reps put out, (and sometimes REPEATEDLY put out) people scream about the same things over and over when it's already been discussed and answered and most of it is even going to get a change of some sort (again of course not all of it some things are working as intended) and I'm sorry but that's OK!!

I play a game for what it is not because I want to mold and shape it in my image. Part of the fun for me is learning how to work within the system not wish it would change so it's easier for me. So I don't search for negativity but it is all around, but I will not let it skew my perceptions or my enjoyment and SE willing I will play this for a long time

The bulk of the complaints seem to come from spoiled WOW babies. That game ruined mmo's. People are complaining here about end game gear grinds because in WOW you can have full pvp or pve gear within weeks. You may not have BIS pve gear in a few weeks but you will have amazing gear with minimal effort. This game is not a wow clone in any way shape or form. They borrow a few aspects from WOW that WOW borrowed from other mmo's first. Nowadays WOW pretty much hands you gear, easy dungeons, easy raids, fast leveling. It seems like these wow players forgot what wow was like before it completely decided to cater to casuals.

I just beat Garuda yesterday after like 5 tries, there is nothing even close to being that hard in WOW before end game. This game makes you work for your gear and these pampered kids don't want to work.

Pro Tipp: Don't read the forums. Don't!
You have fun with the game, thats all that counts.
