on the note of "dragon moves"

Dragoons don't really have much to do with dragons.
Don't be surprised if moves like "Fire breath" and such aren't implemented. The wyvern had those moves because they were wyvern.

These are all valid points / options. I also would like "Jump" as a Dragoon / Lancer. The thing about the wyvern that I liked was that I soloed a lot in FF11 as I do here, so it came in handy. If they don't use the wyvern in the same manner, it could be used in other ways. For instance, as you and it levelled, physically it would grow. At the time you could use a "Mount" you should be able to ride this creature. Also, imagine a "TP" move (at a higher level) where you could "Joust" with it. It would seem interesting if nothing else.

I spend the majority of my time in XI as a solo Dragoon as well, but I would like to see them use the wyvern in a different way. I have thought about the mount idea, and it would be really interesting if the wyvern could actually grow in size/age as well as level. Combination moves like jousting would make for some very interesting fights. Another thought would be to make Dragoons somewhat like a beastmaster, but obviously only with dragon type mobs, using them as a mount or assisting in a fight. Even though its fun to think about, I can't help but think this concept might be too complicated and difficult to balance.

Dragoons are usually good at fighting dragons, not at controlling them. In FFXI they gave them the dragon, and lore-wise Ranperre "befriended" Vrtra to guard his tomb, but that's about it.
