I think at this point in WoW's lifecycle it probably isn't worthwhile. The purpose of having server farms in different parts of the world is to segregate the player population due to legal(as in licensing)/language issues, not to improve ping time. Since SE owns the Final Fantasy brand, the game and all the property associated with it, this is a moot point. Australians aren't banned from playing on NA or JP. But it is "NA or JP" not "English or Japanese"

Maybe at some point in the future it may be worthwhile ( http://arrstatus.com/ ) to have a server in Australia, but that's unlikely in the immediate future until they start getting people to migrate to less crowded servers.
