    Personal housing not till 2.2

    • Free Company and personal (available later) housing options.

This was said at TGS recently and I'm questioning why this is exactly. I was under the impression that soon after the game launched it was said that housing was finished and now it's being said only fc housing is, what exactly is the difference between the two? You've made it clear only a select few people will be able to do anything in the fc houses(officers) so where does that leave everyone else?

Believe it was also said that personal is being pushed because of problems with the economy, problems that are being fixed(hopefully) in 2.1 mind you, so why push player housing just because not everyone will be able to buy a house right off the bat when 2.1 launches? You guys fixed AK and WP speedrunning in the course of a patch, if you want to do something about the economy do it before 2.1 so we actually get this feature.

Likely because they want to make sure that it runs stable before opening personal housing.

There are several magnitudes more individual players vs. the number of Free Companies.

Personal player housing was always going to come later. I don't know where all the misconceptions about it coming at the same time as FC housing came from, but it's always been this way.

There are multiple things that can even be done before 2.1 comes out that could fix the economy issue. Make leve quests give a meaningful amount of gil, let crafting mats sell to vendors for more than 1-2g each(because most of them only go for current vendor value on the ah), make mobs in dungeons drop a meaningful amount of gil not this 1g every 10 mobs or bronze piece crap. You've let it be known you can make changes to dungeons without a major patch with what you did to speedrunning, make use of that before this patch launches again and do something about the economy.

Also when is 2.1? You cannot hold out on so many needed qol or endgame changes when many of them need to happen now. Do not make the same mistake Blizzard did with 4.1 and add more and more to a patch over months and keep delaying a date just because you feel it needs more to it, many of these things cannot wait 2 more months(because that's what it's currently looking like for release).

Then why did they say housing(as a whole) was done soon after launch? Why are they even coming out with fc housing when many players(that aren't officers of a fc) will not even get to take part in doing anything with it? If they don't want to bring both out at the same time they may as well not even do it at all because the only people it will please are those few lucky officers who even get to do anything while everyone else sits there wondering why they can't do anything with it.

Oh hey we can make all these new furniture items in 2.1 though that can be used in fc housing.....who's going to buy them though? Sure have all the members put in some gil to get items, and have it all taken away the moment an a certain officer decides to take off with several million gil, that will go real well. Might as well just call fc housing the officers club because outside of sitting there staring at everything there is nothing that peons(members) can do.

Since they first began talking about it, FC housing was meant to come first. My thought was that since they have their own zones, they want to semi force people to pool their resources into creating group housing first, so have a few nice big houses, rather than everyone start up their own tiny house all at once and never afford to do anything with it but take up room. Otherwise I see it being login/DF issues all over again, but with the housing zones.

There's also the whole thing that they want these things to start off as being fc only but what they will end up being is anyone who wants a house will just make a fc for themselves(and peoples random alts) and just leave their fc and make a linkshell with people from their fc they cared about. Unless these things require a large amount of players in a guild to make then there's nothing stopping rich players from completely forgoing the "limited" housing and just having their own personal mansion. They want something that will break up fcs then this will be it when anyone with the gil to buy one will just break off from the main guild and create their own.

Does anyone have a link on what FC housing is for or how it works in English please.

I don't mind player housing but what on earth will FC housing be used for, just hanging out in someone elses dormitory or what exactly, as a member i will have zero access to building anything so it sounds rather boring to be honest.

If someone's willing to break off JUST to make their own FC house, rather than helping their FC or waiting a little longer for personal housing, I'm not sure that's someone I'd want in my FC anyway.

I think that might be overthinking it anyway, they're not trying to make something to break up groups, they're just staggering it so we dont all do it at once and crash the areas. Also to give FC's more use, chances are when personal housing is out nobody will care about making a guild house. Then again, they said in the past it will be 'very expensive' and would take multiple lvl 50's life savings to fully build and upgrade a house...that's very old info, it might have changed or been meant specifically for FC housing, but if it's that expensive it's more reason for people to group together as an FC to build together.

FC will need to buy the lands, they can also build stuffs there that give benefit to its members (I also remembered they said about Tower like building that can give buffs or something), and available later the member will be able to purchase the plot within that land and build the their home there.
