Name change

There is one situation when name change could be highly valueable, that is

If gender is changed with phantasia potion.

But because of this:

I hope they never add a name change service, and for more than 1 reason.

First: because those people that AFK in DF or grief groups in DF for whatever reason should not be allowed to change their name to escape what they have done.

Second: because I see alot of really stupid names, I feel people who think that it is funny to name themselves something ridiculous like Dick Flapper should have to stick with that pos name or roll another character when their judgment is better.

Third: because if they allow it then it will enable RMTs to sell powerleveling services more easily, powerlevel with a bot and who cares if everyone knows that you are running a bot because once the person buys it they just change the name and nobody is the wiser.

there has to be some countermeasure. Like player previous name able to be seen for month after change, and name change available ONLY if gender is changed when remaking character.

Except those are all terrible reasons to not provide a name change, especially number 1. Peoples actions have always caught up to them. Back in FFXI people could server change AND name change, and the community would always find out about it. Stop trying to act like this would cause more harm than good, because it's wrong.

Besides RMT having a field day with this, another important thing is accountability. If you run off with mats you get a bat reputation. Also for the lvl 40sum genius on my server named "Period Blood" ..deal with it.

Again, a server transfer would do the same thing as a name change here, even more so. Are you also against server transfers?

Also do you really think RMT is going to pay for a name change? They pay as little as they can, they steal account and CC info and such when attempting to do their RMT stuff. They aren't just going to be randomly changing their names for x dollars a pop.

Sure they steal accounts, but they're damn good at leveling their own. Name change would obviously be done by the player acquiring the account. No loss on their part.

I don't mind having a forced name change on people that are reported for offensive names but as for letting us change it at will, I would rather not have that, I think it was more than enough for them to have us change our names from 1.0.

Reasons why name change SHOULD be available!

1: name change is already possible by changing servers anyways, you just change twice but that’s an unnecessarily annoying process.

2: Profit for SE

3: you’re selfish

4: The potion allows players to change their sex but not there name, this has no logic.

5: you’re selfish

6: Players characters are linked to their forum name anyway so you can find out who they are if you really care that much.

7: There also in your blacklist, friends-list, linkshell so forth so it's not that hard to guess who they are.

8: Most players don't wish to change their name because of reputation and just that they wanted to change their character, but honestly who really cares enough about what someone else dose or there reason for it? Does it affect your game-play so much that you feel the need to restrict an option that could make alot of players have a more enjoyable experience?

9: If players are caught botting they would be banned no matter what there name is, changing there name wouldn't stop that. Reports to there account would still be in effect.
