    Don't like DF?

Afraid of grouping with speedrunners? Want to take your time and watch the cs's?

Some of us are in FC's and are perfectly happy in them, but still dont have enough people at our lvl/on our timezones to run full groups through dungeons and need to rely on DF, at least to fill a small portion of the party. All it takes is one impatient person to ruin it for everyone else.

For anyone on Hyperion, feel free to send me a /tell if you'd like someone to run through DF with you (I'm more likely to be available on fridays/saturdays) Whether you be new or experienced. If I go into CM and see there are new people, I don't put up with anyone telling others to skip cutscenes (which is why we try to fill the tank and healer roles ourselves)

I encourage anyone from other servers willing to do the same to share their name, maybe we can make a list of 'helpers'.

Edit: Quoting myself for clarification on what this thread is about

I've run multiple people in our LS through CM and prae for the first time and there's always at least one person telling them to skip and pulling bosses while people are not ready.

One other way to further improve the idea is to make a Linkshell in your server, and invite anyone who wants to join for dungeon runs, across all levels, to join it. It's also a good way to meet new people and make new friends.

While it might trivialize the point of having an FC, but at least you are expanding your network and options.

I also have a linkshell, (along with our FC) I forgot to mention that ^^; Haven't been openly recruiting for it yet, but people are also welcome to join if they want to easily get in touch with people to run with, but this isn't a recruitment thread.

Doesn't have to be an FC recruitment drive, it could be a general purpose LS

You should probably post that you are looking for people in your server thread too. Good luck, and I hope you find some good people to run dungeons with ^^

I was talking about this with a friend of mine last night. A so-called 'Flower Sniffing' Linkshell (to use the terminology from another game. You know...stop and smell the roses?); a linkshell of people who are actively -not- speedrunners, are willing and able to help new players, and are generally patient and knowledgeable...plus the aforementioned new players who'd like to be one of these people.

I'm not very good at running social things, though, and my bad luck would probably infest the whole LS if I tried to run it. But if anyone on Siren is up for it...I'd be happy to help out, at least with the lowerlevel folks. I level far too slowly to be of any use to upper levels yet, though.

With the way they artificially slow down player progress at the moment it definitely works well and really prolongs the enjoyment of the game too. Rather than running dungeons all day, helping others nets you comrades and occasionally you stumble across things you never noticed during your 1st playthrough. It's sharing these moments with those friends that a mundane mmo experience turns magical. That's how I made it out of 1.0 at least when people called you crazy for playing a "failed game"!

But one advice I have on this is to clearly define limits of how far you'll go in aiding your newbie shell. You don't want to tire yourself out when everyone graduates and wants a piece of Ifrit or a Garlean Legatus!
