Anyone else enjoy reading about the progress of this game more than actually playing?

But yes I have opinions. The only difference being that I post my opinions on features after they are implemented.
Overall, I'm just more interested in where Yoshi is going to take the game and I want to encourage him to work hard.

I enjoy reading the forums because it helps me envision the FFXIV that I want to play... I have ideas for this game circulating in my head that would just bring back so many players.

When I log into FFXIV I realize that its nowhere near where I want it to be so I grind my leves and grind the logout button.

For me it is motivating and entertaining to check the forums every day because it gives me hope for the future if this game. When I actually play, however, I see very little hope.

It's weekend, instead of logon and feel bored, listen to some music, relax, reading forums a bit, sleep, biking in the park...

I enjoy playing it as much as I enjoy keeping up with what is in the future. Only wish that the future didn't take so long to get here *grins* In all seriousness though, I still log in, day in, day out and do what I want to do. I've completed (since launch) 5 total sets of 8 Leves in a cooldown so as you can tell, I'm not particularly bothered. I just wander, chat, kill some stuff...basically whatever.

In fact that is what I enjoy most at the moment (and hope continues being a part of the game) - I don't feel like if I stop trying to progress that I suffer somewhat, as everything I do feels very much like my choice, and has been since I began creation of my character - compare that to things such as DCUO and WoW (as much as I enjoy both!) and I spend little to no time on my WoW character, I log in...think I might do a dungeon...think nah, its boring, and log out.

Where as I'm having fun everyday in FFXIV. Different strokes for different folks I guess, but I am definitely looking forward to the stuff that is coming in the future!

*Edit* I do wish the forums were not so depressing however...I understand people are upset but it goes too far - that and the constant reposts by folk who don't seem to have read anything from the Producers Letters etc since the game launched.

I definitely am on the forums 100x more than in the game. I would enjoy reading about progress if there was some.

I remember the first weeks when SE posted weekly about their plan and upcoming features. Now most of them are unfulfilled and they don't say anything substantial anymore.

I play the game all day, but I'm also on the forums while playing because everything is so easy/boring that I'd be completely bored out of my mind if I wasn't multitasking something on my 2n'd monitor while playing this game.

Leveling to 50 on archer consisted 99% of tabbed out of the game spamming X on my controller while typing replies or reading posts. <3 being able to play with a controller without even being tabbed in.

after being involved with XIV forums I'm worried about the game because of the lack of community. it's seems like the clicks and elitism from XI carried over.
