The devs have stated that PvP-specific skills will be added, which allows them to balance PvP and PvE more or less independently. I don't see the point of this thread. P4 PvP was explicitly shown as a demo without any of said skills implemented, obviously it was completely unbalanced.

I wouldn't be surprised if they took the same approach to this that FFXI did and extend melee range a bit in PvP.
