Changed Company Crest - Old crest still showing on gear

I changed my Company Crest, and then proceeded to add that NEW crest design to a piece of gear. The old crest showed up and not the new one. I decided to wait for a while and try to re-add it in a few hours. After a few hours I noticed that the crest I had added to the gear had changed to the "Maelstrom Grand Company Crest" but once again, this was not the design I created.
I proceeded back to the OIC guy and removed the crest from my gear and re-added it again. This time it worked, but may want to investigate this as a minor bug?
