Forcing players to join a FC in order to get adequate groups to complete dungeons that are essential to the main story and/or which unlock basic game features is simply an old-fashioned and non-viable approach today. This isn't old EQ and we aren't in 1999 any more, most people have moved on from the idea that MMO means "group for combat or you're playing the wrong kind of game". It's a fair enough approach for a niche product, but it won't appeal across the board, especially in a few months time when grouping for lower level dungeons becomes even more problematic.
