    Swiftcast Summons

    Hey fellow Summoners,

    I was wondering, people have said Ifrit autoattack is stronger than Garudas.

    So that gets me thinking, has anyone tried to swiftcast summon ifrit after every contagion?

    It would go something like

    Garuda -> Contagion
    Swiftcast -> Ifrit
    Swiftcast -> Garuda -> Contagion
    Contagion -> Swiftcast -> Ifrit

    So you'd have ifrit up half the time and garuda up half the time.

    Has anyone tested this? Is the loss in mana too harsh w/o a bard? Is the damage increase worth a GCD?

    Also on the topic of marginal dps increases, do you autoattack while casting?

    I would assume people don't do this because A. They save swiftcast for instant raises and B. Ifrit dies a lot due to AOEs. Im not end game yet so I can't say yay or nay, but going by what Ive read here, I would assume thats the answer.

    Their difference in DPS is hardly noticeable. I only use Ifrit on trash mobs since he's melee and dies way too easily to boss AOEs.

    Also, even though it's swiftcasted it still takes time for Ifrit to "fly" towards the mob before it can attack and you're losing dps in the process.

    Autoattack? You mean whacking things with your book? No, you don't autoattack while in a casting animation (not that I've noticed). You shouldn't be in melee range anyways.

    Do summoners even have auto attack? I have NEVER hit anything with my book if we have lol. I was always under the impression that we didnt

    We do have an autoattack.

    I believe since it is a melee autoattack, the modifier for it is STR instead of INT, making it exceptionally weak.

    But it does exist, and Kevee suggested being in melee range of boss for miasma 2, which I haven't tried but if you can hit the boss with a book too might as well do it.

    Learn something new every day, I really had no clue. I don't have Miasma II so I can't test it out, but do you HAVE to be in melee range to cast it?

    Costs too much mana to do effectively.

    I had a similar idea of using Ifrit for Enkindle and then bringing Garuda back in.

    Miasma II is an AoE around the caster, so yeah.

    Also my auto attack hits for ~60-70. It's not automatically toggled on. You either have to toggle it, or right click the mob to turn it on.

    RS>Bio 2>Miasma>Bio>Fester>Thunder>Shining Emerald>

    Im currently lvl 40 and since then Ive been using EmCarb for any boss fights. Let me know what you think, thanks!

    I don't use RS first at my gear level due to aggro issues(and not having quelling strikes), but if you're not pulling aggro that would be an effective way of doing it. As long as you get 2 festers in every RS, and Contagion/SE in every RS, that is good.

    Great! I noticed even before I got RS I was pulling aggro all the time during the beginning minute(s) of a fight(which sucks!) Also, I used to do shining emerald and THEN thunder before I realized that it was also increased by it.

    Gear wise, how should i approach it. Right now my priorities are as follow: INT>Crit> DET....But lately Ive been thinking to do DET over Crit for better overall damage as opposed to a CHANCE at CRIT.
