Crafting and Gathering Gripes from a whiny legacy player

So I don't post much on here, but 2 things have been bugging me for some time now, and I need to get them off my chest and see if any other crafters/gatherers feel the same at all.

First here is a little back story for you all, I am level 50 in carpentry, goldsmith, leather worker, weaver, and botanist. In my opinion my botanist is geared about as good as a botanist could possibly hope to be geared, and my leather worker and goldsmith are both pretty well geared as well. My other crafting classes, not so much. Both of my gripes came up when I decided to start leveling up culinarian which is lvl 30 right now.

I have been using guildleves to level my cook up a bit faster, I sometimes buy the mats if they are cheap and sometimes I gather them, lately I have been making chamomile tea for the guildleve in limsa, I took the time and made 298 hq honeys to craft into tea. Now I have used hq mats before in recipes countless times, but nothing quite in this amount of bulk.

This is gripe #1 using a gamepad to craft and to use hq items is a pain, you click on the recipe you want to make, it automatically takes your cursor down to synthesize and you have to manually go back up to the hq ingredients and click on them and specify how many of each you want to use. That's fine once or twice, but when I have to constantly be doing this over and over again it gets tiresome quick, however if I went to quick synthesize I get this convenient little option that asks if I want to use hq mats. Why isn't this an option in just regular synthesizing? My suggestion is make it so when you open up your crafting log there is a convenient little option up top that asks if you want to prioritize the use of hq mats over nq mats, nice and simple, if you do click the box, if you don't want to, don't click the box.

Gripe #2 as I said before, I considered my botanist to be geared very well, now with me leveling up my cook, I thought to myself, hey I can use my 50 btn to go harvest nothing but hq low level mats to use to make hq food to turn in with guildleves. However that little fantasy has turned into a very long grind fest, using said btn I have gone to oakwood in upper la nocea to harvest level 25 vegetation patches only to find that I have only about 15-20% chance to hq 1 chamomile at a time (without use of gp that comes back at a snails pace). Now I can be reasonable I understand you don't want the market to be flooded with hq mats making nq mats being useless, also stops RMT from making gil off of crafters I am sure, but if I were to turn into my poorly geared carpenter and do a level 25 recipe with nothing but nq mats, I am almost positive I would get somewhere between 75-100% hq chance on that item. To me this is a little unfair, I'm not saying I want the hq chance of gathering a 25 node when I am well geared level 50 btn to be 75-100% but 30% even upward to 50% does not seem like it would be overpowering to me, after all how is selling hq mats any different from selling hq items made from a crafter. To tell you the truth I'm not even sure you would need to raise the hq chance if you atleast made it so the higher you are the more you gathered at a time.

I don't know, I just thought maybe some folk on here might feel the same or had similar gripes and maybe SE might give it some thought. Anyhow thanks for reading and if anyone would like to give me there opinions on my points or points you would like to bring up, I look forward to reading them. Till next time, be safe and good luck on your adventures, maybe I will see you in duty finder someday, Cheers!
