Reading the forums I've seen that there are people asking for endgame content, mechanical changes, quality of life updates and summoner mechanic alterations. And going by my experience on FF11, there is no doubt that there will always be new endgame and job content to look forward for. Lastly there are some fun activities being added to the game like the housing.
What I'd like to see is more content at the early and middle levels. One of the reasons I enjoyed ff11 was that there was that there were too many activities that most players did not know everything they could do. It is true that FF14 has just rereleased, but in the long run it would be nice to see the addition of more and more activities that can be done at any level.
Personally I would love to see:
Garrison: In FF11 there were items you could find as random drops on certain enemies. You brought those items to an outpost. Turning in those items at the right outpost would begin an event where up to 4 waves of enemies attack the outpost. Your group would have to fight off the enemies while protecting npc's. During the event and then at the end there would be random drops. There are FATEs like this, but Garrisons were more personal. Something you could grab a group of friends for
Gardening: If they are adding this with housing then ignore this.
Transformations: The one Everquest had this. You could transform into monster forms and then level them. This could be an interesting way for characters to learn more about the beastmen.
Dynamic Towns: So you have a town. But unlike other towns, most of the buildings in this town are destructible. Fates in the area would have enemies attacking the buildings and stands in the town. Players will then of course try to stop those attacks, but if they fail to stop an enemy from destroying a building, that building will be destroy and out of service for a while. Over time the NPC's will rebuild, but not so quickly that ignoring the FATE's wouldn't turn the town into a pile of rubble.
Crafters will be able to speed up the rebuilding of the town. Gatherers would be able to turn in provisions to speed up how quickly the NPC's build, or these provisions would be required to build. For these two it could be like a FATE.
To make these further dynamic, it could be such that players can invest in the towns so that they build more buildings, gain more merchants and more guards. But at the same time, with each defeat the FATE enemies suffer they get stronger until they either destroy the town or an enemy leader is defeated.
Monster Arena: Solo - Small group content, but preferably not something like the monster arena in ff11. I am referring to FFX's monster arena with this. Players defeat monsters with special weapons, and the monsters get sent to an arena. At that arena the player can choose to face any monster they've captured, solo or as a small group. Then by adding certain combinations of monsters, special and boss monsters would show up in the arena. I thought getting to fight nemesis was worth enslaving hordes of monsters in that game.
Race Specific Quests: There's a main storyline. Class storylines. Job storylines. I think I read somewhere that they wanted to do more with the beastmen's lore. But what about the race we picked at the start of the game? I think there should be a series of quests that teach players more about the race they chose. For a reward they could give pieces to a set of gear that is either a higher level version of the starting race gear, or a different set that fits the race's personality.
Other: So WoW added pokemon to their game.. Can we get digimon, or yugioh? Dragonball hunt?
Thoughts? Disagreements? Additions?
