Dark Reeds UI Suggestions
I will try to keep this short and simple.
1 - Action Bar Ability Information.
Add an option to toggtle this information on and off. I would like to know the Name and Cost shown how it is. but I dont need to know the little info it gives now. This will also save space with in the UI.
2 - Action Bar Display.
I would like the option instead of just seeing one action bar, but all 3 at sone time. A simple Grid system would do just like in the Action and Abilities Menu.
3 - Action Bar Horizontal or Veritical Option.
I would like the abilitle to move the Action bar to the side of the screen, and my abilities going down the side of the screen.
4 - Party Member Display.
I would like the option of if I put the party members display to the other side the screen, all the buffs the party members have to switch side on the display. Right now the buffs only appear on the left side of the party members.
5 - HP,MP & TP bars.
I would like the option to beable to rather than have my bars be stacked ontop of each other rather than just along side each other, with Numbers at one side.
6 - Targeting
When I select a offensive spell, I feel like it should only beable to target Mobs, and if I defensive spells, to only have valid selectable targets of PC or NPC.
Also, when using an ability or spell with AoE enabled, a shadow to appear on the grounds to indicate the range of the AoE, to better judge if I will hit mobs that I dont want to.
7 - Guard
Due to a recent patch, I oftern have my shield raised, but I am shown not to be. When I used Argos Boon, I get a buff that counts down to when it will drop. The Time changes depend on my weild rate and my GLA trate. As we cant reraise a shield once we have raised, why not a recast on it of the weildrate + trate if the person has it?
All these I can see working with the current UI System. I do have one other idea, but I think it would require a major rework.
8 - Action Bar revap
Break down each type of ability in to some simple architypes.
Basic Attack, Basic Defense, Ability, Spell, Weapon Skill, Item.
Once these types have been implimented in to the abilities, you can create a Menu system for use of abilities much like FF-11. For instance, My GLA would look like this..
Light Stab
Light Slash
Heavy Stab
Heavy Slash
Phalanx
Guard
Throw
Ability (when I go into Abilities, this list is displayied)
Provoke
Taunt
Argos Boon
Rampart
Hawks Eye
Frenzy
Raging Strike
Spells (when I go into Spells, this list is displayied)
Cure II
Sacfifce II
Syphon MP
Protect
Shell
Weapon Skills (when I go into Weapon Skills, this list is displayied)
Howling Vortex
Item
Again, this would be an option within the UI, so people can use the existing UI, or use the menu system.
